The custom game, map, and skin scene is nearly nonexistant, the forced skins are retarded, the game is unbalanced and relies on RNG more than skill, the community is cancer and majority is underage, smurfs and hackers are an insanly widespread problem and valve does nothing because they eat up the extra sales, and the MLG n0sc0p3 mindset is antifun.

You can play multiplayer games without having to type to people or voice chat ya dip.
When all I had was a 360 I played nearly a thousand hours across CoD games and almost never used the mic, and the most I did in terms of "socializing" was plugging my laptop into a converter to have my laptop sounds play through the mic with good quality and play stupid soundboards and porn to get reactions from people.
