One of the best stealth-action games ever, and mgs 2
Cutscenes every 5 minutes until the bomb disposal sequence, then back to cutscenes every 5 minutes after that.

MGS3 is way more casual than MGS2 though. Like seriously, the open forest areas massively neuters the ability of the enemy soldiers to be a threat and Snake has too many ways to deal with them.
In comparison Raiden has to deal with narrow corridors, choke points and soldiers that regularly stay right on his ass. It's much more challenging as a stealth-action game.

MGS2 > MGS1 = MGS3
>>342788265
Its still more fun, has much better bosses and characters, and doesnt have any fucking bomb disposing so its automatically better

Closeenough for me to like you
MGS2 > MGS1 > MGS3
>>342788012
abysmal frame rates
>>342788713
What? It runs smooth
>>342788265
The healing system makes MGS3 more fun, as your managing stamina and healing supplies. And playing on Euro Extreme makes the game really hard
Inferior visuals
Some framerate dips
Shitty controls
Enjoy

Download MGS1 on PSN and play it first
story:
mgs1 > mgs3 > mgs2 (it just gets too silly)
gameplay:
mgs3 > mgs2 > mgs1
characters:
mgs1 > mgs3 > mgs2
dialogue:
mgs1 > mgs3 > mgs2
ocelot:
mgs3 > mgs1 > mgs2

Is there really any difference from substance and vanilla 2?
>>342794118
More blood in Sons of Liberty (nothing really noticeable), but Substance has VR Missions and Snake Tales.

The VR missions are fucking huge and take hours upon hours to beat and are pretty fun, same with snake tales which takes the concept of a mgs parody to new levels. It also adds some balancing to the main game, including a minute but appreciated redesign of some rooms.

Looks nearly the same compared to PS3
None so far
Controls just fine
