/v/, what is your greatest achievement when it comes to video games? I had a couple of 99s in Runescape years back which I was pretty proud of, but now it doesn't seem that impressive.

>100%ing isaac is ez, meat boy I would say is way harder.

I actually feel it was the other way around. Though I guess neither is unfathomably hard, just meat boy takes 20 hours while isaac takes 200 just based on the sheer amount of stuff you have to do.
>>
>>342794212
I don't think he has much experience with Mario World
>>342797000
Well Super Meat Boy has almost no amount of luck to it. There's definitely some skill required in Isaac, and I have a lot of respect for the people who get consistent top 100 ranks on dailies. I played both with a keyboard though so maybe I'm just an idiot.

He's an amazing theory guy and TAS wizard, though you never actually see him do impressive feats real time so chances are he does have average execution skills like everybody else.

Kinda like how Desk makes the most ridiculous combo videos but when you actually see him play fighting games outside of training mode it's very very lukewarm. Not that it detracts any from the amazing skills these guys have in their respective domains.

Sure SMB is the more "pure" experience, but Isaac you still got to learn to adapt to the hand RNGesus deals you quick in order to not score loss after loss. And when you get fucked 10 times in a row trying to get those Lost checkmarks, only half of which are bad luck but the other half are split second brainlapses where your dumb fuck mind ran into a spider on the chest or what have you, it can take a special kind of tenacity that the fast paced meat boy with his puny number of short stages to run through never requies you to have
>>
>>342797854
honestly i feel like he has incredible technique

I have a few reasons for thinking this: first, he is trying to beat the game without using its most important fundamental feature. Now i know that doesnt necessarily mean hes a master at the game, but to me, the only reason you would ever do that is you like a game so much but are so good that you need to find a better challenge. Second, his videos are not meant to showcase technical skill as you mentioned, but even in the videos if you look for it he has a lot of moments where he perfectly dives/jumps. The movements he makes are so precise that he has to have above average skills at it.

I think he would beat kazio with the same amount of difficulty an average person has at beating regular mario

You do realize that the entirety of his videos are done using tools such as slowing the game down and doing inputs one frame at a time, using savestates and what not, right? Sure that kind of love for the game inevitably means he's better than the average joe, but I mean for the most part he doesn't actually "play" the game so much as dissecting it and studying it's components. If a speedrunner is an athlete, he's the coach, and also the guy who comes up with the diet plan and also the one who can hook you up with shady supplements, but you're not seeing him on the field.

>>
>>342804746
It takes genuine autism to do these things. You don't want to be these people trust me.
>>
>>342803372
Speaking of Autism, there's actually a guy who's been keeping a diary for the last 3 or so years on gamefaqs about his progress in attempting to get 99 of every single monster medal on the GBC version of Dragon Quest 3.

For those who don't know how autistic this is, every single monster in the game, including bosses, give out medals as a random drop after battle. You can only get one per battle, and some of these monsters, like metal slimes, are super rare, let alone the medal drop. And each monster has three of them. Bronze, Silver, and Gold.

Bronze is rare enough that you might see one every one-hundred or so battles. Silver is rare enough that you might see one every one-thousand battles. Gold is so rare that you could actually legitimately go the entire game without ever seeing one.

Or, to put this in perspective, what he's trying to do is the equivalent of collecting every shiny pokémon, every perfect IV pokémon, and a male Chancey.
>>
>>342806595
I love you :3
>>
I've done a few decently respectable things, but if I was to think of a single most impressive gaming-related thing I've done it would probably be solving "You Can't Teach an Old Frog New Tricks"

If you try solving it for yourself without looking up the solution you'll see how insane it is. Progressing from room to room is a challenge in and of itself, but you're required to do so much more than that in order to reach the exit.

The best thing I ever got leaderboard wise is 9th place worldwide on Moonview Highway in Mario Kart Wii before the boards were ruined by cheats.

>that part where the guy just sits there waiting for 100 seconds just for a frog enemy to wander over so he can lure it through to the end
When you finally lure it into that green button room after those minutes of careful setting up (and triple checking that you've set everything up correctly) it's such a sweaty palms moment. Ice can cause monsters to lag and if you let it touch you just once you're dead. And on top of that, if you let it trap you on the gravel at the top then it'll always be able to catch you so you're basically fucked.

Actually, I think the final boss and the other final boss don't have medals, but I believe that at some point, every boss monster becomes a regular enemy at some point in the game just because it's so long, but I could be remembering that wrong.

>>
>>342811989

Well hold on it's not that weird when you talk it through. The feminine shape of a woman's body is curvy as such the circle is the embodiment of what makes a woman feminine. So what I'm really doing is masturbating to all of which what makes a woman feminine. I would think in that same instance women would have an affinity for square shapes because they are rigged and straight like a man.
>>

It's still weird, but being into weird shit too I'm in no position to judge.

I was thinking that but in reality it's the stability that the square provides is what women are attracted to. Think about how the average male is made up of. He is very squarish in the shoulders and the jawline likewise. Based on this I find it fascinating I am attracted to notepads as well but I think that's because of don't hug me I'm scared.
