It's so-so. If you're a big fan, it'll obviously be better, but it's basically just a compressed adaptation of Mk2 and Victory. Lots of drama, some falls flat, but the characters are all still nice. Most of the VAs return for English dub so you can enjoy whatever voice you prefer, ENG or JAP.
Basically, if you're a fan, you'll like it, if not, then there's a 50/50 on it.

I have the first game for Vita. Here are my thoughts on the game as someone with a very open mind when it comes to video games and not really into anime.
I think it's a cute little game. The areas look terrible and the battle system is alright. I like how it works though and it can be fucking challenging. Before I knew it I was grinding on those whale things to level up quickly. This game also likes to surprise buttfuck you doesn't it? Because before I know it there is a fucking boss I have to beat and I end up dying and restarting from my last save. That's annoying. The character art looks very very generically animuish and it can be a hit or miss. The story itself is also incredibly retarded and makes Kingdom Hearts story look like perfection.i also like KH though dont get me wrong. The character interactions are pretty neat, cute, sometimes "just shut the fuck up". But somewhere in my heart after playing Tales games I got to like more of those kinds of interactions with the characters in other games. I've only played the first Nep on Vita, and plan to get the others eventually when I can get a job.
