This must be the first time you play this kind of games, but, yeah, the first hours were somewhat tiring, but those were pretty useful for the setting and all.
Anyway, beat the first dungeon (Yukiko's castle) and then decide if the game is your cup of tea or not. There are a lot of Visual Novel-ish parts, but they are very good if you don't mind that kind of story.
