Different weapons have different move sets, you can use the bracers/gauntlets whatever they're called to attack/dash cancel and get to enemies super fucking fast if you're good. Also that buster sword looking weapon is hands down the best in the game cause you can use its air attack+dash to basically fly. Also it's got crazy damage and reach.

You have to let the spirit of the murder elemental Caim take over and really get into killing people.it's been a long time but I don't remember the story ever picking up. With these kinds of games I tend to get more invested after seeing one ending and wanting the others though.
Also i'm gonna avoid spoiling it but there was one boss before the final boss for that ending that I was super under leveled for. I ended up spending quite awhile just collecting weapons before I went back and killed it. So be prepared for that eventually or do a little collecting between each story mission.
