no dedicated dodge button isnt a problem. You have plenty of block abilities that can block most damage completely with good timing and you can set a dodge ability if you want. If every schemata came with a free dodge that doesn't take an ability slot, managing your schematas would be a lot less interesting. This way you have to make a tradeoff if you want a dodge or block and that'a a good thing. Lightning moves if you make her move and you can use your abilities to manipulate her movement too.
Fighting monsters does give rewards and t's refreshing to play a game where you can fight to your heart's content and not become ridiculously overpowered as a result.
