Hello /v/
I played Undertale recently, and liked it quite a bit.
To my great suprise however, many here apparently didn't.
I think however, many peoples concerns are centered around not the game, but the people who like it.
I saw the game on steam for 7 dollars, so I thought I'd try to make a case for the game for those genuinely wondering about it, and wanting a perspective from someone who doesn't own a fursuit, dragon dildos, or a tumblr blog.
It's decent, just that it's over-rated as fuck.
I'd really prefer if you'd be quiet

Welcome to /v/.
Undertale isn't Jesus, but it is a very good game.
The community is god awful however, but dont let that tarnish your view of it.
The creator, Toby, has also responded IMO very well to the success. He's not become this moneygrabbing jew sweat man, but just a sort of humble weirdo
also the music is the crowning achievement of this game

Are we talking overrated as in it isn't great, or as in 12 year old skeleton rps are offensive to human decency

You can hide the thread I think, but I'm not sure.

I don't think they want to discuss the game, just nostalgize about odd bastardized variants of characters. They already like the game anyways, though I question if some of them have really played it.

I know. But I'm trying to talk to the people that do want to know. I'm expecting contrarian replies.

are there any game that are Jesus?

The story was nice and a bit cheesy.
I liked the Combat (Or Dodging) System and how different monsters had different attacks.
The music was good, probably my favorite in the game, overall.
Wow, I'm surprised. My arguments are so good that I don't even need to make them to convince every shit-poster and those on the fence that maybe the game is worth 7 dollars. I at least expected the routine undertale spammers with those cave story and kabbalist jewish images. No one on at this point in the night or what?
I enjoyed the game as a package. I was one of those that played the demo way back when it first came out, so I'm glad I was able to play the full game before the fanbase took a dive, but in the end, I think the post-release criticism and arguments kind of tarnished my memory of the game.
I remember having a fantastic time when I played it, and it was one of those time when you finish an amazing game and you just don't know what to do with yourself anymore. But now, I can't think back on it without looking at all the problems it had.
It's a very good game, great even, but it also has a lot of flaws, and didn't separate itself enough from the tumblr/furry groups enough. The base gameplay has very neat concepts, but was generally too easy and uninteresting. It was way too short, and a lot of the humor feels kinda forced. I honestly can't name a character that I really liked, but I feel that if the whole game felt like the demo, it wouldn't have gotten the surge of fans that it did, and would even maybe be a better game for it. Toriel is probably the best.
Good game, good job Toby, but if you make another game, don't make something like Undertale.
Real post-irony game. Felt authentic. Pirated tho.

How is a game supposed to separate itself from a tumblr/furry group? Add an anti furry patch or something?
I enjoyed it. Good music, cool characters, nice combat system.
A solid 5/7

You don't need to shill.
Toby and literally everyone who followed the project from the start knew that as soon as /v/, furries, homestuck, and tumblr got a hold of the game, meaningful discussion would cease to exist.
Everyone including Toby knew exactly what kind of people it would attract. The current fanbase was inevitable.
