Why is this game so perfect?

What have you guys been playing lately?
Personally I've been having a blast playing Heroquest and MtG

because, for one, the community isn't garbage.
>>
It's an awful game that makes set-up excessively long when it should be instant.

There are much better, 2D free clones with games that are already set-up every time, you can play shit in browser with less effort than TTS.

The ideal is to actually have friends and spend 20 bucks on a new board game every now and then, but I can understand how people can't manage that.

I don't know what you've been trying to play, but if a game takes a while to set up, then just fucking set it up ahead of time and save it so that you can just reload it later on when you want to start again
>>
It's not so perfect. The physics kinda suck and Desperate Gods was better in that regard.
>>
>>342700632
>The physics kinda suck
Honestly, I've never really had a problem with them, and you can tweak the physics enough in the settings to make it work for whatever you're playing.

There aren't really many games that involve more than moving pieces or cards occasionally, and there are functions that do that for you as well as options to create grids and shit that snap pieces into place if you're having a hard time getting things in the right spot when you move them
>>
>>342700564
Even if you can do that in such a way that you're always covering how many people are playing, it's still a fucking hassle.

Just PLAYING the game takes far longer too, decent clones will include the ruleset and prevent illegal moves.

TTS is absurd, if you asked ANYONE if they'd rather play D&D in a proper 2D system where dice rolls take half a second, or if they wanted to play it in fancy 3D where they can barely read the cards without zooming and it takes 30 minutes to set anything up, they'd think you were absolutely fucking insane. But somehow, it's acceptable to play board games in something that really only works as a gimmicky chess simulator.
>>
>>342700497

it's tabletop simulator, not table top speeder-upper

the game is perfect as is
>>
>>342700291
I tried to get my friends to play it, even got the 4 man pack
no luck though, nobody really wanted to get into it
also I wish there was a comfy setting for the game, cause floating table in space with background A kinda sucks
>>
>>342700828
It's not a simulator, though. In real life, I have 2 hands. In real life, I can move a piece exactly where I want it to go. When you have to do shit like enabling grids just to get things in roughly the right place, there's a problem.

I've seen pieces clip into boards, I've seen them fly out and smash into other objects, it's far too unreliable for an actual game.

Maybe if you had a VR headset, it'd be a passable substitute. If they're cheap in 5 years, maybe I'll pick the game up for that.
>>
>>342700784
>can barely read the cards without zooming
Just press ALT nigga

>it takes 30 minutes to set anything up
just like D&D IRL

But seriously, no one is saying D&D is best on TTS, thats what shit like Roll20.net is for
>>
>>342700784
>D&D
That's not what TTS is for. Roll20 covers that one.
>>
>>342700953
Thats what the backspace function is for, if something wigs out and messes up the board just go back a step.

You're kind of complaining about very basic shit that can be solved with some minor tweaks in the options. You can even turn physics off completely so that things don't move unless you move them
>>
>>342701026
No shit, but a lot of board games have various elements like D&D which are handled awfully by TTS.
>>
>>342700953
>It's not a simulator, though.

Damn, do you actually have autism anon?
TTS is an amazing value for what it is. How can you not look beyond minor physics issues and see that you spent $10 and now have access to almost every board game ever made and can play them with friends all over the world? Obviously it would be better to play them in person, but not everyone lives close enough to their friends to do that
>>
How is TTS if I'm a friendless loser?
>>
>>342701453
There is honestly a pretty large and active community that plays games with randoms. You can even just type something like "Anyone want to play some Magic?" into the global chat on the main menu, and odds are someone will be up for a game within a minute.

Either that or you can just look through the server browser until you find an active game with open slots that you want to play. I mostly play with people I know, but every time I've joined a lobby of randoms they have been extremely friendly and are willing to help you pick up the rules if you haven't played before

TTS is also, unironically, one of the best games to come out of early access, and I really hate early access.

It's still getting updated with new features, one of the latest ones added fucking scripting, you can actually write your own scripts to hardrule games or add your own helper features, there's even an actual racing game on the workshop made with scripts.

Sorry for what? Our daddy taught us not to be ashamed of our games. Especially since they’re such good value and all.
>>
>>342702772
You don't really have to talk, but it might not be for you if you don't like interacting with people at all, but at that point I don't even know why you're interested in a game that simulates board games.
>>
>>342703047
Lost Cities is the only game there, standard games like chess aside, I properly recognise and play, and that shit is fucking simple, this is probably an awful system.

Its kind of funny that we've been having more fun playing board games than videogames lately
>>
Have board game manufacturers made any comment about this game? Isn't it practically piracy with all the stuff in the workshop?

>>342706815
>Isn't it practically piracy with all the stuff in the workshop?
Sort of, but what kind of market are they missing out on? The people that all buy a $40 board game individually and set them all up via webcam so that they can play online?
