Dude RPG combat is what this game is made for. Pick an Orc and make Axe one of your major skills you'll be fine

Actually I was just giving some advice. there are good combos for every race because if you have about 30 skill and full fatigue you have about a 50% chance to hit which is not bad at all, and each race has its own favored skills so you still have a lot of options for each race.
As for mods, MGSO is the best mod for graphics. Once you've beaten the game once you should install some gameplay mods to spice it up.
Oh, one last thing about the combat. I hated it too, on my first playthrough. But it grew on me, and now I feel the game would just be too easy if not for the fair randomness that Morrowind inherited from older RPGS.

Mournhold is the part in the middle, the whole city is called Almalexia. From what I've heard, they're actually redesigning the city because they made it a while back and they have a new standard. That's also why they'll re-release the Telvanni lands after they're done with everything else.
