Valvedrones will defend this.

I hate the cancer of people who buy 60 copes of games from sales and try trade it for TF2 unsuals for full price.
>>
>>342696032
>reddit screencaps in your OP

stop breathing
>>
They should raise the price to $40 and never drop it.
>>
I saw an article with a comment from Valve saying people were buying CSGO for themselves to get around bans and other shit like that.
>>
As much as a shitsite Reddit is, I have a feeling they're our best hope for fixing this fucking cancerous business tactic.

Everytime Valve does stupid shit, it's always Reddit that throws a big enough tantrum to get Gabe Newell to backpedal, apologize, and then fix the stupid decision.
>>
>>342696032
kill yourself, my man
>>
I don't think I've ever seen a company literally turn down money.
>>
CSGO is a pile of shit anyway and the cancer of PC gaming, you deserve to get fucked hard for trying to spread the infection.
>>
Stop coming to 4chan, ledditor.
>>
>>342696404
Reddit being shittier than secretchan is a meme.
>>
>>342696429
The Russian mafia is really fucking up Valve. They have to shut down and put a hamper on nearly everything that's remotely profitable in the Steam economy. The Russians are using Steam to launder money and shit. It's why they stopped doing community events during sales.
>>
>>342696815
Why don't they just quarantine the Russians from everyone else?
>>
>>342696032
I don't get the logic. Are they trying to hold out and hope that the person who hasn't purchased the game on their own will eventually do so?

It's like they're looking at the numbers and seeing "Well, x% of people who buy it on their own stay while only y% who receive it as a gift stay." At least they're getting y% of people from the group who won't buy it to stay, what the fuck
>>
>>342696032
it's so hackers dont buy 1,000,000 keys for $3.50
>>
>>342696032
I use steam and i think that's a stupid fucking idea.

I'm not defending it, they just publicly made it known that they're being greedy cucks
>>
>CSGO

Too bad that most of the official representatives don't give a shit about /v/
>>
>>342696530
Reddit hasn't been wordfiltered for 6 years.
>>
>>342696032
What the fuck?
>>
The other excuse coming from CS players is that they do this to reduce smurfing and cheating.
>>
>>342697362
Then why don't they just say it? People would agree that it was a fine decision.
>>
>>342697469
They pretend that their game is not filled with cheaters.
>>
>>342697117
>>342696316
But what's stopping them from just opening another account?
>>
>>342697421
>Too bad
no, it attracts normies and kids
>>
>>342697469
They don't want to admit how big of a problem cheating is. It's like they're doing everything to make cheating more of a hassle but not improving VAC.
>>
>>342697525
Nothing.
The no gifiting is just some minor thing they can do to attempt to reduce cheating.
CS:GO is so big that, IMO, they'll never decrease the amount of cheating going on.

Some people live their lives by selling accounts and skins so they can pay rent and shit.
They'll find new ways to keep their neet lifestyles going.
>>
>>342696815
>Ban all Russians
>Only lose $2.59 in sales per annum

Valve aren't really trying, are they?
>>
>>342697117
How is it bad for Valve? Looking at how long it took them to ban lmaobox and hpw bad VAC is, they don't give a shit about cheaters.
>>
>>342697525
New accounts have holds on them. You can't participate in the market or trade. You can't even send friend requests IIRC.
>>
>>342697684
Russia holds the majority of Valve's market share.
>>
Now that's just being shitty.

I got CS:GO because a friend gifted it to me, I have more than 150 hours registered.

I uninstalled it because of all the changes Valve made

>CoD killcam in Casual mode
>Rank progression system
>Forcing players to reach a certain rank before they can play competitive (Which effectively blocked me from playing Competitive with all the friends I play competitive with).
>Somehow the game is filled with 10 year olds

Are 1.6 and Source still active?

>>342697601
Sorry to break it to you, but if you think 4chan is some sort of secret organization despite being featured on the mainstream media dozens of times you're delusional.
>>
>posting screenshots of another website

IF I WANTED TO SEE THIS I WOULD GO TO REDDIT

FUCK YOU

STOP POSTING TWITTER CAPS TOO
>>

>>
>>342697672
Don't you think Prime will make a big difference? I doubt most cheaters care enough to keep buying new sim cards.
>>
>>342697892
>>/facebook/
>>
>>342698042
Again, it can help out, but I don't see it eliminating cheating all together.
I don't know all the details on prime, but burner phones and cheap plans could be the new thing.

That's not including people who pay a hell of a lot extra for private cheats.
Prime will have no effect on that, unfortunately.

It's a thread about CSGO. Did you expect anything but redditors and facebook kids?
>>
>>342696032
Dude valve has been bad since anything past HL2 your point is? Why didn't you expect this BS?
>>
>>342697774
Valve is a private company.

>caring about Cancer Strike
>>
>>342698732
Not shares, anon.
>>
when is valve going to put csgo, dota, and tf2 into its own containment ecosystem. im so sick of them adding a bunch of hoops to jump through just so i can sell my duplicate cards.
>>
the one and only thing to blame for this is the shitty trading system

we've now reached a point where you can no longer buy games for other people because shitheads kept trying to jew other people on the market.

thank you valve for holding games back.
>>
>>342698732
Market share is the portion of a market that a particular company "controls". To clarify, what percentage of market are buying from them.

For example, of all computer owners in America, the percentage of those that own Apple computers would be Apple's market share. They own that percentage of the market.

Russia holding the majority of Valve's market share means that the total of all people who purchase video games, the majority of those who are buying primarily from Steam are Russian.
>>
>>342696815
Good excuse
>>
>>342699146
What's the real reason then? Why is Valve shutting down avenues of profit that are incredibly profitable for them in return?

are valvedrones worse than fromdromes when it comes to criticism?

I know this is old but why don't they just start perma-banning credit/debit cards? If it's that bad go the Overwatch route and find a way to make sure they stay banned.
>>
>>342696032
>CS:GO will not be giftable
Wow, that's disgustingly blatant.
>>
>>342697701
You can do those if you spend at least 5 bucks, which CS:GO costs slightly more than.
