Build a Brotherhood Paladin.
For Perks, go with a smear of Rifleman, Nuclear Physicist and Science!. Then use Laser Rifles and Power Armor. Don't befriend Nick any more than you have to, don't join the Railroad or the Institute, don't put Curie in a Synth body. Just join the Brotherhood and Ad Victoriam through the Commonwealth.

I like to make a build where I roleplay as a soldier guy who was frozen before the war and is looking for his lost son. You can use guns and sometimes melee, depending on what you prefer, and either power armour or regular armour.

There is only one build and it is unstoppable god with 200 perks that is great at everything. Play long enough and every character is the exact same
