At 31 I haven't grown out of them, but I have stopped playing most genres. When I was younger I could play pretty much anything.
Now I only like RPGs with a lengthy story to keep me interested. Also I still sometimes playMaddenwith friends.
20. Beat GTA V and realized that games just were not as entertaining as they used to be. I don't look forward to games anymore because I know they will be a let down. I just use them to pass the time now.

The problem is that vidya isn't the issue, escapism is. Remove vidya, kids get chained by anime, remove anime, kids get chained by d&d, shit novels, drugs and so on. People have shitty life and until their real life becomes more interesting than a fake one, people will always choose the fake one, especially if there is no pressure on them.

I'm not sure if you noticed but we're not doing so hot. We need to put all of our resources into leaving the planet and finding an alternative way of living. We can't do that when we spend all of our money supporting fat nerds, drug addicts, alcoholics, etc.

Probably video games fucked him up into this way of thinking. Fantasy has a tendency to screw with the youth of today and their way of thinking in regards to the collective future of humanity prolonged survival. AKA he needs to get off the internet and stop playing vidya for a while.
Started really happening around 20-21.
I was aware it would be best for me to quit from around 18.
The main thing keeping me connected to them were friends who liked vidya and big waits like FF XV.
Now most of those friends are gone and the things my adolescent self waited for are here and/or disappointing, so I'm almost ready to move on.

Around 21, I play a game then about 80% in the campaign even if it's 8 hours long I'll get bored then just watch a playthrough and skip through it. Looked at the steam sale and got bored, spent $50 on cosmetcis and bought Legion instead, I dont even llike WoW anymore, I just randomly pvp if I sub for a month

I noticed a dwindle when I was about 16 but I could still have fun on rare occasions. Now I'm 23 and don't even care to play often. Although I'm really looking forward to Zero Time Dilemma, but once I finish that my gaming life will be hollow again aside from multiplayer every now and then.

My compulsive desire to play games for hours on end stopped a couple years into college, when I started getting actual responsibilities. After that I stopped giving a fuck about my "back log", gaming stopped being a daily activity and was reserved mostly for weekends, I only ever got hyped for one or two games a year (current one is Bannerlord holy shit I want it), and I haven't done anything resembling a marathon in a long time.
But instead of falling for the LE TIRED GAMER GUYS LET'S CIRCLEJERK ABOUT HOW DEPRESSED WE ARE meme I just realized that I no longer had endless free-time.
Judging by the ages in this thread, most people here went through what I did except they fell for the meme, and decided that because they no longer had the desire/ability to play as much as they used to, they were "growing out" of vidya.
