I still don't understand how undertale was so well-received. the writing is mediocre. the spritework is garbage. the battle system is bland and only unique in how it combines bullet hells.
the game just has some memorable moments but to me it just seems like it stuck on to such a large group of people is that they were so thirst for a 'heart-felt' game that when one vaguely resembled it, they latched onto it like a parasite and praised it into oblivion, much further than it deserved.
