I haven't played since emerald on the game boy advance. I've never been more tempted to return to playing but those retarded mega evolutions are killing any desire. Not only do they look completely stupid that I think it's intentional to make them ugly, but the mechanic behind them is weird (the stone and they are temporary evolutions) the gameplay suffers (the best pokemon get better, and some trash ones do too instead of just making new pokemon or adding new moves/abilities to make trash ones better) and are just lazy on gamefreak's part, especially after X/Y had the fewest new pokemon introduced to a gen.
I have never been more eager to return to pokemon than I am now. But those goddamn megas are ruining any positive memories I had of the pokemon that have mega evolutions that I won't get the game if they are still in.
Or I'll just get black and white or black and white 2 and play that for the rest of my pokemon days.
