Muramasa is Legend of Kage with around 15 hours of length for the true end, each character's campaign takes around 7/8 hours to beat if you only focus on it and don't do the stupid challenge caves and shit. It also has a fury mode that challenges you to beat the game with 1hp, but it's more on the non fun spectrum due to how bullshit some enemies' attacks can be.
SSD is a good hunting RPG with neat ideas and good lore.

Soul sacrifice is a hunting game. You hunt various fairy tale inspired monsters as a sorcerer. The story is really good and the lore for each monster is fantastic, each one is fleshed out and really interesting to read. There's a ton of content and multiplayer as well. Look up some gameplay and see if you like it.
Blazblue is a fighter with an incredibly complex story. I'm not very good at fighters, but I thought the previous ones were interesting enough to keep buying them. I'm not sure how fighters handle on the vita, but I'm pretty sure It'd be better on controllers than the vita.

If you don't have better access to XCOM then yes. There are longer load screens and the frame rate can dip but its not a bad game.
Steins;Gate is not a game, but if you even marginally enjoy sci-fi stories with humor and heart(ache) you would be doing yourself a great disservice not to pick it up.
VLR is also great and while you SHOULD play 999 beforehand, it's not essential to enjoy the game for its puzzles.
