For starters Rando gets his ass kicked by Brad, then Brad slowly dies of bloodloss after killing 20-30 people at the same time. So technically Rando didn't kill him.
Secondly, even if Rando did kill him, he's the only boss that does this making final bosses becoming the protagonist not being a common idea. Since ya' know, it's a fucking dumb idea. It only worked for Rando because Lisa was an artsy series.
