Also it's the only game with no lazy recycled levels. Halo CE campaign was repetitive as fuck, some unnecessarily stretched parts of the game are a core to get through, it completely ruins the pace of the game. It had a great atmosphere and story so I can understand how someone might like it better for that aspect though.
Even I who played LANs of CE all the fucking time yet I can see all the gameplay improvement Halo 2 made, I'm not a delusional PCuck like you.
Off the top of my head Halo 2 added:
- Dual wielding that allowed experimentation
- Vehicle hijacks that made fighting against vehicles actually fun
- Tons of cool weapons including the best weapon in the series: the enery sword

I recently did a Legendary run of all the Halo games.
In Halo 1 you can skip a lot of things, sometimes entire levels.
In Halo 2 the parts with the jackal snipers alone make the whole run way harder.

Halo 5s bullet magnetism just makes up for the toned down aim assist from the previous games. It's better than it was in previous games when you'd try to aim at something and an enemy walks past and pulls your reticle along with them. Bungie used to feature some of the montages on the B.net news feed every now and again. Hell Marty O'Donnel saw and personally commented on my music video featuring his work, that was the best recognition I got and it was a really nice thing he saw it. Other than that we weren't exceedingly well known but I had fun making shit for it. Although I did get Recon back from Bungie vs. the World 2009.
I still do Halo videos from time to time, mostly campaign gameplay or some sort of like music video or something but it's harder now that I'm not a kid anymore. Got a pet project that's going to be a long Halo timeline video including important dates and events through the entire series' history, books and games alike and an idea of a kind of cinematic movie version of one of the games, probably Reach because it had the best theatre.

This is why having a good population of players for matchmaking would be fantastic. Especially because Halo had the best matchmaking system until they kept fucking it up with each new game.
