Racing games are legit my favourite genre; can either be intense as fuck with stuff like Dirt Rally, rFactor etc. or can be maximum comfy with Forza Horizon, Test Drive Unlimited etc.. There are no boring stories (at least on the good ones beyond 'you are race driver, go race').
Also think about this;its completely free from any kind of SJW bullshit. Everyone's wearing a crash helmet and fire-proof overalls, you only really see the driver's arms and head anyway. No MUH CENSORSHIP, no 'ugh, so problematic' or anything else like that. Forza 6 even added the option to have a male or female driver, you know how much that affects the actual game? NOT ONE FUCKING BIT. Plus all the most avid complainers aren't gud enough to play them anyway.

Physics are bad, but car selection is okay. Tiered upgrades ruin it, but if you just want to go drive casually, then yeah go for it.

It's good for driving around, and if you have friends to play with it's even more fun. You can also change the language to have a character from initial D as the MC and Lucina/Katsuragi as a qt hacker cheering for you. It turns the game from edgy to bantz central.

If I were to try to drive trhough a twist like that I'd have to slow down to like snail speed to not overshoot and go way out of the track. It kinda feels like I'm trying to steer a cruise ship.I use a 360 pad, default settings

How do I drift properly in AC?
My car always seems so stiff when I try to initiate a drift. I can kind of cheat and do it with the handbrake but it feels wrong.
Whenever I watch AC drift videos it always seems as if the road is magically covered in ice or something, and they can just steer a bit while stepping on the gas to start the drift. That never works for me.

What I meant is in what kind of corner you need to slow down to 35 kmh in a hairpin it's normal I guess.
What most gamepad drivers do wrong is brake hard in the straight and them slam on the gas mid corner, and that's not going to cut it. Now I use a wheel, but the principals are mostly the same. Also before I go into technique, I would advise you to disable everything apart from abs traction control, so you won't have a numb feeling.
Now, on to how you should atack a corner. If the corner is a right hander, you should be on the left side. Brake hard and downshift before the corner and start turning once you start easing off the brakes. Don't cut it to soon and you will not find yourself slowing too much. Then coast to the first apex and use a bit of throttle until you've rotated the car to the next apex. Still light or off the throttle, make the second turn and accelerate out of it while going as far outside of the corner. And like with most games, you will not succeed at the first try, so keep trying until you get it right.

There is nothing wrong with initiating a drift with a handbrake. Even competition drifters use it. Try setting the grip on the track to low use the throttle while drifting to not snap back from it. Also put a lot off camber in the rear wheels and fill them with air.
