Surprisingly not. Sales were going down because people would buy it for the nudity first, and the articles second. However, with the advent of the internet and smartphones, people saw less of a need to look for nudity, and pay for it, and store it, and potentially get caught with it.
Playboy will still be a sexual magazine. It's just changing it's focus so that it could make more sales. Without nudity, it could be sold more openly and in a wider variety of stores. It's just that now it's merely Maxim+.
