PC faggots, I need your advice. Should I wait for the AMD rx480? My only regret with getting the 480 is that it might not be powerful enough and maybe I will need to replace it in 2 years. Will it be powerful enough for playing video games on 1080p resolution for years to come?
My alternative option is to buy a GTX 1070 right now.

AMD cards tend to start out underperforming the hardware's potential, but they just pick up speed over time as the drivers improve.
AMD's new 'Pro' drivers and the open source drivers especially are a massive improvement on what they had before already so if they stick to their pattern the 480 will be even faster in a few years time. Probably more than enough for 1080p Vulkan games.
Best bet is to wait till November though. The cards might be even cheaper in black friday deals once the 1060 and Vega launches.
OP, you could always simply wait for the bechmarks to decide. Or you could wait for Nvidia's offerings but that might take a while.
