Great game, probably tied with Viewtiful Joe 1 and 2 for my favorite game of all time. Satisfying, fair challenge, and manages to reinvigorate the Souls formula by placing the emphasis on dodging and offense instead of defense and shields.

Great game and a personal favorite for me as far as the souls series goes as it fits my agressive playstyle like a glove. Make sure you pick up the Old Hunters DLC too as it has some damn good weapons.

Pvp had many fundamental issues. BB worked best as a coop hunt with bros. It's still a fantastic game and with Old Hunters you really won't find anything like it. Like it's why I bought my ps4 next to some weeb games and I put something like 800 hours into it.
Aside from the pvp, it's the best Souls type game.

I'd say consider grabbing the ps4 for some future games too. I consider BB worth it, but BB is pretty much my dream game, like it's in my top five after playing games for 20 years, so I'm very biased towards it.
Consider looking at some ps4 exclusives to make sure you dont end up with a dusty console.
Shouldn't pvp in the hunter's dream at the end of the game be crawling with people? i see specters there constantly, also in the abandoned workshop, for something more available
A great concept with the only problem being that you don't get enough of it. Bloodborne has a great artstyle but my problem is that you're only in one of 3 areas: ornate castle, forest, or underground cave. Oh there's some great areas like the Hunter's Nightmare and I would've loved more of places like that. Which leads me to the Old Hunters which was FROM pretty much saying "here's more of that." The DLC is fucking great and adds a lot to the game.
The story is a lot more obtuse than Dark Souls, I'm just going to tell you that now. Where the motivations of most of the cast and world are pretty clear cut in DaS, people are still arguing what exactly the Hunter's Dream even is and what the motivations of the Great Ones are mostly because in the end it boils down to "they're too far above us and we can't understand them." But I still find the story to be entertaining mostly because it's Miyazaki losing goddamned mind and mostly all but 2 or 3 NPCs are some flavor of insane or mad.
Gameplaywise it's faster which some people like and some people hate. I personally like it though I HATE the idea of grinding for gems to make weapons stronger. Also I wish the Chalice Dungeons could've been woven until the main game world rather than being separate bonus areas.
So all in all despite its hang ups I actually like Bloodborne. Maybe more than DaS3 though I haven't finished DaS3 yet.

You force him to go edge-mode on his katana and then catch a parry on him. Every time he rolls (vanishes) assume he's going to shoot you. Do NOT mistime the roll. BB if you haven't noticed multiplies damage you receive if you mistime a dodge. That generally means he one-shots or close to one-shots you with the gun.
Don't try to r1 spam.
Parry is best here. Stay about one forward-dash distance away when he gets in heal range. Use your gun (one that can parry) and shoot as soon as you see the start of the heal animation. That's how you parry in pvp. It takes a lot of practice, but I can now parry-spam him from heal-range to death.
