I like RS more than RO2 to be perfectly honest but you might just want to wait till Tripwire's Vietnam game comes out

And Verdun isn't really dead but it doesn't really have a large following either

What do you guys think of Squad? i am considering, but it feels stupid that it is acttually more expensive than Arma 3

Sounds like a ripp off tbqh, but i have heard good things about the game. Wich one should i get? Arma 3 or Squad?

I've had the most fun on European maps but bringing democracy to yellow monkies is always a good time.

Verdun died because they didn't market themselves at all. They also recently added very poorly coded weapons and changed the out-of-bounds areas to make it no fun allowed.

Such is the life of a trigger happy faggot

If you're trigger happy you wont hit anything at all. The game demands you take the time to line up your shots, and this gives you the moment you need to tell friend from foe.

u can try to get used to it with bots. dont jump into full server maybe. try to reconize outfits check before shooting.

Sandstorm better not be consolized and have better optimization. It refuses to give me a stable 144fps.
>>
>>342554969
I'm looking forward to squad but thanks to KF2 i have a strict no EA purchases policy. I'd probably wait for Arma 4 at this point if you haven't purchased it.
>>342554821
I rarely get wipes from RPGs your team shouldn't be that close together. Though it's pretty funny when an AI trick shots an RPG through a doorway and kills everyone on an objective.

Try Project Reality for Battlefield 2, it's by the same guys and shows what they're aiming for by the end of the ealry access.
>>
Since this is now an RO2 thread, should I buy RO2? It's very on sale right now, and I've been kind of interested in it for a while.
>>
>>342555512
>AI trick shots an RPG through a doorway and kills everyone on an objective.
I hate this, but sometimes they do spam many RPGs to objectives spot.
>>
>>342555797
It's pretty fun m8, and the player base is still alive and kicking.
be sure to play on realistic, campaign, and with natural voices for maximum ptsd.
>>
>>342555512
I'll let you know right now anon, after like 100 hours in Squad, it's going to be a long while before it's finished. I doubt they will ever hit that 50v50 mark they want to hit due to how some parts of their core game is optimized. If you get it during the summer sale though, I promise you'll have fun. Unless you are going to join an actual unit or group in Arma, Squad is going to give you better teamwork and more bro-op moments.
>>
>>342555943
Will do, thanks comrade.

>>
>>342554649
Don't worry, that's only a problem in RO1 because the engagement ranges aren't fucking all CQC. No RO2 maps really allow for both distance and flanking opportunities for you to mistakenly shoot another ally.

These RO2 kiddies will never know the sheer joy of pixel hunting a moving target, leading a good 600-700 meter shot, scoring it, and then finding out your glorious shot was a TK.
>>

PvP is decent but I love the co-op. It's fun as fuck on expert rolling around with a silence shotgun like Anton Chigurh.
>>
>>342556194
Good times. Remember that fortress map? I think it was Russians attacking the German fortress. Picking shitters off the wall while friendlies inch up gradually to the hole in the wall...

Kaukasus was it? I don't remember the exact name. Was good but a tad bit overplayed. I really loved that one spot before the central objective with the ruins though. So many intense charges in and out of cover trying to reach that front entrance.

>>342556428
Part is rage, other part is usually "Ain't even mad, that shit's impressive." I think anyone typically was forgiving on such long distance shots.

I never played that much of Darkest Hour due to that later patch changing the gunplay. Was really fucking annoying acquiring the skill to hipfire the Kar98, only to now forever lose to Thompsons because your aim would fly around like you had ADHD and caffeine jitters.

Not that anon but my wife's[\spoiler] Uncles were all in the Iraq war and came back extremely different. From what I hear my uncles also came back quite changed back in the day from Vietnam. Shit like constant paranoia and only being able to sleep in extreme quiet and jet black rooms makes for a tough adjustment. My grandpa was in WWII but died when I was like ten, I never got to pick his brain about that and it really bugs me.
>>
>>342558426
Yeah like 40 people total. You will find at least one server with players.

Well, my dad was Air Force and he worked in logistics. He was deployed in Iraq in 2003, worked at the green zone at the Baghdad airport. Mom and I got calls from his every now and then and he would tell us how exciting it was and that he was in relative safety because, you know, the airport was secure as fuck since it was the command post. He came back, brought back a ton of black market dvds and generally had a bunch of fun stories since he worked in tandem with a lot of coalition units like the South Koreans and Australians.

His deployment to Afghanistan was different though. To this day I don't know a whole lot of what happened because he never told me or my mom. I know he was involved in combat at some point and that's as far I learned. He was medically retired and spent the next five years being unable to adjust to civilian life. We would talk about vidya and how he wanted to make a video game about an alien invasion on US soil and you were just an infantryman trying to repel it. We talked alot about things he wished he could do.

My dad lost a ton of weight and would sit and stare off into space for hours at a time. His eye sunk in a little and he never left the house. It's not that he wasn't able to feel anything, but it was more that he became so uncomfortable if anyone was around him. I mean, I was his son and he asked me to leave the room tons of times. I was in highschool at the time and didn't quite understand what he was going through, so I felt like he didn't love me, which was quite the opposite really. He just became a husk.

He eventually took his life, leaving behind a note about how sorry he was that he was unable to be a better dad for me. He wrote that he would be proud of whatever I turned out to be and that he hoped I would come to forgive him for what he had done. I didn't think this would be so difficult to write out, sorry it took so long.
