I won't outright say they're bad games, but I do not understand the hype behind the RECENT Zelda series. I think that over the years the series has become overly self derivative and plain boring. The fact that the new game is another openworld does not help this.

I love JRPGs, but have never finished Chrono Trigger despite playing it 5 different times because I get bored every time and get dissapointed over how short it is.
Symphonia isn't nearly as good as many make it out to be and both Abyss and Vesperia are superior.
Both Super Metroid and Metorid Prime are the best adventure games of their respective gaming dimensions, 2D and 3D.

I actually just picked up Limbo for the first time (way overdue, I know) because it was free on Xbone even though I own it on 360 and PC.
It's a short, but sweet game, and I really recommend it. The only hard part is beating it without dying more than 5 times. I haven't done that bit myself, put it back down for a break, will go back some other time.

I suck at The Witcher games and can't understand any of the plot very well, I think the combat is dumb and wish it was made into a movie game instead.

It took me YEARS on and off to beat FFVII. The final disc is brutal. You have to fight a section of minibosses, then watch a cutscene, then fight Jenova, then watch another cutscene, fight Safer Sephiroth who all he does is healspam, then fight One Winged Angel Sephiroth who unleashes an attack that takes a full minute to play out. And if you lose you have to do the whole fucking thing over again!

I think this is pretty normal. It's why everyone pushes for HD textures/remakes of classics. Games have focused so hard on pushing graphics over any other facet, that it makes it harder and harder not to see the age in the graphics of older games.
Some artstyles luckily escape this and remain timeless, but those are few and far between.

I finshed FFVII recently after starting to get into JRPGs
I tried to play through VIII, but I can't. The magic system is really overcomplicated and annoying to use.
The story's alright so far, but I can tell it'll pick up later.

I compulsively press Mouse 3 (scroll wheel) while PC gaming. I try to bind whatever primary button is needed to it (ie. jumping, shooting). It feels more natural than spacebar/M1 at this point. I've broken 2 mice over 8 years doing this.
