Just run under him and hang off the left side under the platform and wait for him to go away. If you had trouble with the tadpole, then the crab is going to murder your ass.

I've been meaning to play this
Should I bother playing the first or is Shun just an upgraded version of it

Ive played through that game 5 times now and every single time Ive never figured out how to get the code without looking it up

Yeah, this. Its a whooooole lot of trial and error if you don't. And also, I didn't even know there was a gold chocobo for the longest time.

Because we were kids, I was 10 when it came out so I had no chance otherwise.
>>342544774
Yes yes we get it, you're accustomed to tooltips that tell you exactly what your next objective is and how to complete it. That's not how games used to be.
They really need to show me where items are. Because just giving me just the broad continent doesn't help at all.
Recently? NSMB2 for some of the star/moon coins and secret exits.

>people who think slide puzzles are hard
Just do one row at a time, fag
Elemental Gimmick Gear for the Dreamcast has one boss near the end that I needed to look up a guide for. He seemed to take no damage from any attacks; it turns out he was taking damage but the damage he took was so low that he showed no reaction, and that the way you beat him is literally just to keep chipping away at him for like 10 minutes. A horrible spot in an otherwise good game.
The slide puzzle in RE4
I like in-game hint videos.
In-game hint systems are frequently too hard to figure out because they're basically also puzzles.
The new Zeldas have it right.
All you need is a little visual nudge denoting "HERE. GO HERE AND FUCK AROUND HERE MORE".
Rather than looking through a goddamn walkthrough for an hour trying to figure out where you are in the game, usually spoiling even more puzzles.
But it's also good to have the videos in a far off place and not in the menus.
I barely use those things. But just knowing you can use them makes games quite nicer.
This. Fucking. Room in Zero escape- VLR.
goddamn.. looks so bland and white yet soo damn convoluted

La-Mulana would have been a great game, but there were too many things in that game that the solution was literally "Re-explore every single room in the entire game tile by tile". There's a bit where you put one guy on a cart and use the other to press a lever. When you do the other guy teleports away. Turns out you have to switch to the guy as he's zooming away before he teleports. Its dumb and if it were real life the characters wouldn't do that.
