Gives without a single player campaign make me uneasy because you can't play offline, you can't play if the servers are down/shut down, and you're at the mercy of the community (unless you do co-op with friends who also have the game)

'98UM is considered by many the best, huge roster and tons of options. Some great exclusive characters too (heavy D, Mr.big). A legend among arcade fighters.
2002UM is my personal favorite, 60+ characters and super tight gameplay, a great introduction to the series. there's no story mode or in-depth tutorial though, worth noting. Online play and single player arcade are both excellent though.
XIII looks great but has a limited roster and some movesets were reduced (RIP Yuri's moves) but features a deep story mode and tons of extra features on top of solid all around play. Still great but the weakest here.

I want to play a collect-a-thon platformer, like Mario 64 (Galaxy, etc.), Jak & Daxter, Banjo-Kazooie, that kind of thing. Enter a world, collect 8 of this and 100 of that, do some platforming and beat up some enemies.
Are there any games like this on PC? I found a trailer for something called Poi and it looks alright but it feels like it's missing something.
