The input lag has nothing to do with game balance or people being bad players. Even if it did, that miniscule amount of lag is not going to drastically changed the game's balance which is fairly good. If anything it'd make the weaker characters (Zangief, mostly) have more of a chance if you play a reaction-based game.

Shit has 50 characters man. SFV's roster on the other hand is severely lacking. Plus there isn't that 8 frames of input lag.

Actually the net code is great.
The problem is playing vs people on toasters or shit wierles connections.
Considering people had a tendency to quit vs opponents like these it filtered out all the shiters and now the game is mostly populated by people who have decent internet.

The vanilla version of capcom fighting games always, without fail, sucks ass. It happened to all SF games and all versus games.
They only get good after one or two iterations.
There are so many other good fighting games out right now (even on a platform like the PC where there aren't much FGs usually), there's no reason to settle for this unfinished trash.

I think the second most populated game is usf4 for christs' sake. Maybe MKX, but the netcode for that is SFxT-tier.
I bought it at launch and still can't figure out why every time a Ken pops his V-trigger my game gets laggy as all fuck. It's not slowed down or dropped frames, the opponent just starts teleporting as if the connection suddenly became horrible.

Weird thing is that they made the gameplay shallow as fuck for the casuals, but they didn't realize most casuals don't even want to go online and compete, they want to do single-player shit. And that's nonexistent.
I don't think a 4 hour story mode is going to turn it around, either. Wait for the inevitable next release that includes a bunch of DLC characters and gameplay tweaks.
