4k gaming is fairly novel, but it isn't like the jump from sd to hd. I'm not even completely sold on 4k gaming on PC. With the hardware xbox is proposing, I don't think its possible especially with UWA's who are supposed to run on potatoes.
I was under the impression the increased hardware was intended to run vr shit which actually would justify the increase in horsepower, but 4k tv's seem to be going on the way of 3d television for xbox to even justify supporting a resolution that's only barely out there right now.
Maybe I'm wrong, maybe in a 2 year's time, 4k will be the new 1080.

It won't be 3840x2160 output consistently. They'll use sub resolutions, and all kinds of other bullshit to reach their target. 4K is not a specific resolution, it is a marketing term, so they'll get away with it just like with KillZone on the PS4. Frame rates won't be stable, and Microsoft will end up saying the decision between 30fps and 60fps is up to devs.
About the only thing you'll get from a console in 4K without hiccups will be Blu-ray playback.
