Haven't played the demo, but watched a video, and the boss looks horrid. Not a fan of the design (not because of the boobs, just don't like it overall) but the colors are just awful. Hope they change it.

Played the demo, was fairly disappointed. Movement is very floaty, the button config seems awkward but that might just be because of the 2 powers you get, and it's insanely easy, even for an opening level.

You can get a shard from the ghosts, yes (They're actually skulls if you check their death animation), the slime dudes does not drop any shards however.
Drop chance on the ghosts are 1%, but it doesn't necessarily take long if you use the water attack and go back and forth between two rooms. Reasoning behind slimes not dropping any shard is, according to Iga, "They're incomplete demons", or something like that at least.

Enjoy, the La-Mulana 2 alpha is nowhere near as refined as the Bloodstained demo is, but they're also only like, 3-4 guys I think? The LM2 alpha doesn't allow you to pick up items yet for example and there's a lot of stuff you can't scan that is obviously meant to be scanned.
I do hope they manage to complete the game this year, but I honestly think they might need another year. But we'll see.
