I failed to convince them. I repeatedly crit him in the eyes with a gauss rifle and Sniper Perk and used five or seven super stimpaks. I had the turrets pre-emptively destroyed. I also never saw his full death animation since I ran the fuck out of there before it finished. I was so scared he would still do something once he started moving with his upper half.
