I'm surprised that all of these are accurate. I've played and enjoyed every single one (save for TLoU) and while they're all great games, none of them are GOTYAY best game ever incredible so great wow revolutionary. Dark Souls had no atmosphere, a pretty basic story relative to the other Souls games, and wasn't impressive from a tech standpoint either.
Bloodborne and Dark Souls 2 did both better, albeit with many questionable design decisions in DkS2.

I've got probably 60 in on it and, eh.
It's a superior game to Fallout 3 by far, but its not a really memorable or groundbreaking experience. The writing and dialogue are awkward, the game itself tends to drag on slowly.
It's a great game. But that's not really the point of the thread, yknow? It's overrated games. A game can be one of the best games ever released and STILL be overrated and overhyped. Its more about "what games generate the highest amount of autist-tier sperg praising" rather than "what games suck".

Do you actually know what it means to be cohesive?
There are several places all over the game where you can see the next or previous area, or multiple areas and see how they physically connect in the world. Going from one place to another feels natural, even when you have big shifts like Ash Lake from the Great Hollow, because it's contextualized in the world and you can see why that happened.
The only ones that don't mesh with the environments that lead in to or out of them are Undead Asylum and the Painted World
And the DLC area but there wasn't really any getting around that
it wasn't even a good fps for its time. Story was bland as shit and the characters even more so. Don't even get me started on the retarded physics engine.
