MKB is generally my PC setup EXCEPT for adventure games like MGSV (where I use a controller instead of a mouse/keyboard) and twinstick games.

Its good for older fps games, and stuff like stalker. For Console Shooters like overwatch, theres no reason for it

'virtual Dpad' is clickable. I use the Steam if I have to use the PC as a media PC from a few feet away.

I never even tried to play Oblivion with a controller. I hate playing Skyrim with a controller come to think of it. FO:NV supposedly worked with a controller, but there's no way that I will play a Beth game with a controller.

Xbone controller just work without any effort in terms of game support. You need some 3rd party software if you want to control your PC as a media center.
I have some mixed feelings when it comes to use on PC. The whole durability and battery life of the Xbox controller wins out against the DS4, but the DS4 has bluetooth built in as well as having that trackpad. I like the Xbox controller more ingame, and I like the Xbox one controller more than the 360.

Last time i played oblivion it worked out the box with a 360 pad, GOTY edition i think.
Anyway, I play BF3 infantry and land = kbm, heli/jet = pad, GTA5, on foot = kbm, vehicle = pad, l4d2, terraria, stellaris = kbm and so on, different games/modes = different control schemes, both have there merits. KBM is by FAR the most accurate and has best response times, Pad is best for getting comfy or playing with friends. 360 + steam pads here, 360 pad is great, steam pad has its moments.

The thumbsticks on DS4 will wear faster, but you can replace those yourself. I don't think you need to use the 3.5mm headphone in, but know that Xbox one controller's 3.5mm out works, while DS4 doesn't because of 3rd party driver again.
