Tell me again why you buy AMD?

Well they cost around 40% more as their equivalent Gigabyte cards, guess thats where the money goes.

I'm gonna have to agree with this.
Pic related, my 780 Ti GHz Edition from Gigabyte, burned last week. RMA'd it on Monday, waiting for response.

GPU thermalpaste is applied differently than CPU paste. Just saying.
>>
>>342406398
>not wanting to wait months for a far superior product
>>
>>342407802
I know but that doesn't change the fact it's still very shoddily done. I had MSI 570 GTX before that and the thermpaste was applied 10/10 perfectly. Said card also didn't give out after 3 years of overclocked heavy usage, I sold it 2 years ago and the user STILL uses it just fine. So that's 5 years that card clocked without any maintenance.

Meanwhile this piece of shit from Gigabyte burned after mere 21 months, with no extra overclocking beyond the stock factory OC. I'm never buying Gigabyte again, that much I know for sure.
>>
Yeah, I buy EVGA when I can.
You do pay for it, though. Nothing in life is free, and EVGA stuff has a premium on it.
>>

>Gigabyte
>good quality

My 660 crashed day one. Traced it to a voltage issue with the hardware OC. RMA, went into the void, came back STILL broke with no explanation.

Had to underclock it to stop cradhing 90% of the time. A month later the damage controlling cunts replaced it with a new model and cobtinue denying mine had any issue.

They are cuck tier terrible. I'd sooner buy Zotac.

I had 13 gigabyte cards, used half of them for mining, only one burned out and it was ofcourse, a mining card.

But ofcourse, maybe paying for that EVGA will be worth it.

Sort by newest reviews first shitlord. They build garbage designed to fail. Sometimes that garbage fails on day one like mine did.

Meanwhile my EVGA and sapphire cards 5+ years old are still going with no issues.

STAY THE FUCK AWAY FROM ZOTAC!

Every single card of theirs I've ever owned has died in a year or two.

Zotac
>GTX 680 AMP
18 months
>GTX 770
11 Months
>GTX 970
13 Months

Msi
>GTX 460
6 years and still going strong
>HD5850
7 years and still working

EVGA
>8800GTS
2006-2012
>6600GT
2004-2011
>>
Because amd has always offered a price/performance ratio I liked. Nvidia may be better but it comes at a premium im not willing to pay and also nvidia has a reputation for sabotaging video games though shit like gameworks
>>
>>342413571
Well idk what to do then. I already bought a gigabyte gtx950, if I'd known I'd have searched for other manufacturers. At least I have two years warranty thanks to eu law.
Anecdotal evidence but I had a gigabyte 8600gt up until two months ago. Never missed a beat but then that never was a performance pushing card
>>
>>342413571
Zotac is a shit company, I'd never even consider them.
Read what I said carefully, I have Gigabyte and am simply never buying one again, going back to ASUS or MSI which didn't fail me in the past.

>>342408393

The entire square is the die, unlike CPU's that have a heatspreader on top of them. If you remove the heatspreader on a CPU you'll see the exact same type of application.

EVGA is the best GPU AIB and if you give your money to anyone else you are shit.

>have SLI GTX 780s
>bought them day one May 27th 2013
>3 year warranty expires the same day 2016
>notice artifacting in my games over the last year, decide to RMA them both before warranty expires
>they send me back a working 780 and a 970
>email them saying my cards are mismatched and I can't SLI anymore
>they tell me they'll cross-ship another 970 and I can return the perfectly fine 780

They are the best, they deserve all the moneys. Their customer support hooks you up left and right AND they're US citizens who speak proper english. Fucking love this company.
>>
>>342417847
Each manufacturer makes their own PCB for the chips, the square part in the middle the only one that Nvidia provides, everything else is made by the GPU manufacturer.
>>
>>342417946
EVGA is only good in the US, their EU customer service is awful and they overprice hard compared to competition because they don't have local distribution and thus import everything and pay the shitty import taxes.

>>342419454
amd drivers have improved in the last couple years, only caveat is if you use nvidia's shadowplay video capture for anything, but other than that amd's shit is pretty acceptable.
Nvidia's been fucking up their game ready drivers a lot lately too unfortunately. I wanted 2 nvidias, not 2 AMDs
>>
>>342419786

so true it's not even funny, I' using a gtx570 right now and surprise surprise after going back to 314.22 my fps nearly doubled on everything it works flawless on win10/64bit

>>342419786
>amd drivers have improved in the last couple years

More like they were never bad in the first place even a couple of years ago. It's just a bullshit meme that nvidiots keep spreading. I've been using amd cards for the past 10 years. Or better yet... they were projecting all their own driver problems.
>>
>>342419573
>>342418721

Still fucked up. It's used and 3.5. The RX470 will be around $150, is more efficient, 4gb, and leaked benchmarks show that it is on par with the GTX 970.
