All we have to do is a shitty kickstarted piece of fanservice and retards screaming about tits on bosses and having no problems with the stick woman protagonist clumsily hopping around empty ledges and lazily placed skeletons before the boss happens.

Bullshit, you sure can. That's like saying you can't enjoy an RPG after playing a tough action game, which post-SoTN games are closer to in spirit anyway. The Metroidvania games have an entirely different appeal, and don't really compete with Classicvania games at all. The enjoyment comes from the aesthetics, castle design, exploration, lots of gear/playstyle variety and cool bosses. It's not as tightly designed or balanced but it doesn't have to be because it's not the same kind of game.

MN9 is Ini-Creates + Comcept
BS is Ini-Creates + Team Iga.

Inafune admits that a lot of the problems were caused by trying to make 10 versions of the same game at once. BS avoids this problem entirely and has a reasonable amount of ports. Iga just seems to be better producer, with experience in bringing in projects on time with tight budgets. I think each of the handheld Castlevania games were for 1 million each.

Plus Iga seems to be using many of the team members from the handheld games. I know the programmer is back.

SotN had an incredibly large castle map with lots of detail, right down to having a freaking confessional.

I played castlevanias in release order (except for Rondo that I played it by 2001) and SoTN was a fresh change. The whole idea is not make a challenging game in the way of old metroidvanis, but do a confy adventure game. I can´t even compare both except for the setting
