Bastion is more of a tool for your team to use to defend or retake an objective, than he is a full fledged hero. He's sorta weak in pugs where people just play bastion and plop down in a corner or something and wait. But having him push forward with a team (containing reinhart and mercy) can be devastating. Then you can have him switch when its safe to do so.
Of course, in pugs, you can just play bastion and still shit on kids without a team helping you much.

Symmetra's beam melts errything when it's charged up, her turrets are pure evil spaced out around an objective and hidden behind doorways, etc, and her teleporter can often decide a match.
She's tricky to play well but a good Sym is often the deciding factor when you're on defence.
You never need more than 1 Sym though.

Pubs still can't develop legitimate strategies against Bastion when it's paired up with Mercy/Torb/Reinhardt/Another Bastion, though, but that's to be expected from any turret based character when playing with randoms who try their hardest not to work as a team.

Attack and defense aren't balanced and maps heavily favor defense.
Mei simply does too much shit to be called balanced and has too many options in combat for one character (stun locking damage and area blocking self healing 4 seconds of complete invulnerability long range sniping capability)
Other characters are mostly balanced except for a few abilities like genji deflecting an ult with a non ult ability. Also in general the characters just don't fit to their archetype and it fucks with the balance.
Non healer characters shouldn't have healing options. A healer shouldn't be doing as much damage as a sniper with a charged attack.
The game suffers from balancing issues to its very core as a design choice because they blend the classes together too much. However nothing besides maybe Mei is inherently broken enough to not be dealt with the game is just poorly designed.

I just want to say, 76 is really a balanced character.
He's good for almost every situation, good for pushing, defense, you name it.
I feel bad picking him all the time but he really is good for almost everything (unless the other team piles on the bastions) and even then if there are enough tanks I can draw attention and take 1-2 of them out with me.
I love throwing down heals for everyone, and if I die I always try to throw one down right before. It feels good seeing the team use it to push even when I'm gone.
He's just an all around fun and balanced character.

Pharah is one of the hardest characters in the game to play. Literally all Pharah has is her aiming skill, she has no skills that just do shit for her like Reflect or Wraith Form. And since her weapon isn't hitscan you need to be good at leading shots. Her splash damage has gigantic falloff and it's utterly impossible to rely on it to kill other players unless they're already near death.
I just played my first comp match on the PTR server.

Master Overwatch
I've had OW for a week and I'm starting to regret buying it. A lot of shit in this game makes matches insanely repetitive and I'll usually end up playing the game for only 20-30 minutes before getting so bored I hop off. Release day TF2 with 9 classes and 6 maps felt a million times more varied and less repetitive than OW does so far. The two biggest factors were the map and class diversity. There was absolutely 0 overlap between the map designs, and character designs/weapons/playstyles. None of the maps in OW feel that unique in terms of their layout, and too many of the heroes have similar weapons and abilities.
I want to enjoy OW because it can be fun sometimes but damn it's been pretty iffy so far.
The only objectively bad characters are Zen, Mei, D.va, Torb, and Hanzo.

Zenyatta isn't objectively bad, just situational. Discord orbs can change so many match ups and easily effect the majority of fights happening. DVA is closer, shes like the oppisite of torb. Her biggest problem is just being too similar to winston.
Torb is objectively useless. Hanzo is so bad that you can get 40 fucking kills every match and still never win with him. His potential is S tier but i feel like theres no comps that make him good

I think Lucio and Mercy are fine. They both have their uses. Zenyatta and Symmetra aren't good healers which is why they're never picked outside of situational uses, and it's always alongside one of the other two.

In no way is that balanced. The shitters that get pulled to that character will get stomped anyway, but in not handicapped hands it makes the character extremely easy to play and just fucking annoying.
Reaper you can just ghost away, but you're squishy and you need it to engage/disengage
Mei it literally fucking heals you and you can just wall off as soon as you get out as long as their isnt two people on you, then you can just wall up and kite with your spray.
Genji is for the absolute braindead. A character perfectly made for shitters down to the design. In no way should the squishy attack character be able to reflect EVERY projectile ability. You have Genjis that will hop infront of the Reinhardt and deflect absolutely everything back into the enemy team, then just shift away. Anybody who plays Genji is more than likely autistic and almost always a rat.
Zarya is difficulty/reward balanced. Sure he E and Shift are fucking annoying since they basically pull that character from the game so they can not get punished for being outplayed, but balancing that, using it as a parry and getting damage off it requires thinking, unlike Genji where its just spamming both keys to go in and both keys to leave a fight.
