Haven't played Desert, but soviet and nuclear had escort missions and defense missions, among other things, in addition to timed missions/missions where you have to blow up a target before it reaches a certain point

Brigador is more about clearing the map of enemies while trying to not alert too many groups at once and then fucking off

oh yeah, I remember some of those now. Desert had them too.
Tho I think amount of vehicles you can pilot is a fair trade vs mission types.
>Brigador is more about clearing the map of enemies while trying to not alert too many groups at once and then fucking off
depends on vehicle again. with some you can clear whole level without really caring much about driving attention to yourself, with others you need to be careful to even engage the smallest group. But I guess regular gameplay type can get pretty stale if you not into switching vehicles often

It's all still possible via the dev console for the most part, just more tedious. You can't make new files for example, only overwrite old ones. There luckily are a bunch of unused files that you can use instead, but they all have types associated with them that determine certain things that limit you without being able to edit the files in a text editor.

Worst thing though: you can't extract the files you changed, so everytime the game updates you have to redo everything to be compatible with the new version. Sharing mods is also a little more tedious because you have to share the entire assets.pack file instead of just the edited files.
>>
>>342242064
yeah, mod support probably'd help.
devs are pretty social, try asking them.
>>
>>342234710
I can agree with drifting and contrast, but I have a bias opinion because I really like Initial D and every racing game recently produced has shitty drifting mechanics. motorsport games sucks ass, I want more tokyo drift.
>>
>>342242163
Oh I did. It's got nothing to do with them not wanting it really, it was possible in the EA versions but then they changed something about how the art assets are compressed to help optimization (and it did that a lot) which apparently makes dumping the assets.pack and rebuilding it impossible.

One of their programmers there might be a way to re-enable it somehow, but it's apparently quite an effort and other things are priority right now.
I.e. gamepad support because casuals look at one screenshot, think it's a twin-stick shooter and then come on the forums to bitch about lack of controller support.

actually gamepad support sounds quite interesting, I doubt it'll work usual twinstick way, it'd be more fun if they pull Battletech on it. with separate controls for body and chassis
and considering time of game development, they need all sales they can get.
>Oh I did. It's got nothing to do with them not wanting it really, it was possible in the EA versions but then they changed something about how the art assets are compressed to help optimization (and it did that a lot) which apparently makes dumping the assets.pack and rebuilding it impossible.
Well I guess only patience is an answer for now.

>I doubt it'll work usual twinstick way, it'd be more fun if they pull Battletech on it. with separate controls for body and chassis
Yeah, there's an exeprimental build in the Beta section. It essentially works exactly like mouse aiming, just that you get a button to increase the cursor speed.

The thing is, while it's viable for low-med difficulty, it's not gonna be as good as M+KB, and most of the people that demand controller support who think it's a twin-stick shooter won't get what they want either. It seems like kind of a waste of ressources, and they're barely getting by as it is.

I'd rather they finally work on releasing the map editor which they've been teasing for ages - it's practically done, too. According to them the only thing preventing them from releasing it to the public is that they want to make tutorials for it.
>>
>>342244252
>Yeah, there's an exeprimental build in the Beta section. It essentially works exactly like mouse aiming, just that you get a button to increase the cursor speed.
I guess you can't easily eliminate mouse from the game. A lot of precise weapons.

Just look at console FPS. Shit is slower than grandma walking across the street and yet it sells. Let the controller fags suffer.
Resource wise - well you gotta shut up most noisy voices first.

Sweeeet, I actually didn't know that. Never really check forums and stuff often. Isometric map building is the shit.

Or it might be a rare non-shill. You know, someone that doesn't get paid by marketing agencies to advertise for new games.
I've heard this rare breed of person still exists, although nowadays even indie devs that eat ravioli all day long because it's the only thing they can afford, to shell out a couple of hundred thousand for marketing campaigns like this.

Yep, about 40 different vehicles, each one can wield up to two different weapons and one special. Each weapon category has average 7 different guns, so depending on a vehicle you can have like 14 different weapons as an option. 4 special abilities. It's nice.

Lasers, machine guns, howitzers, cannons, BRRRRRRRRRRRT guns.
