There are lots of digimon and evolution types to follow, and yes the story is long with lots of sidequests. I'd say it's the size of a pokemon game, maybe a little bigger.

i thought it was alright.
lost my drive to keep playing after 40 hours or so though.
but that's mostly because i have a hard time finishing games, especially long ones since my backlog is huge and i never feel like playing anything.
game is fun overall, evolution system is fun to experiment with and the combat moves at a reasonable pace. i also like the setting.
