Final Fantasy Type-0 or Pillars of Eternity?
Both are on sale, I need my RPG dose.

Those are very different games. Type-0 if you like action, PoE if you like more traditional cRPG, I guess.

I want good characters I can like/hate and care for and a story I can get into.
I don't care about what kind of combat it is.

As somebody who has played Type-0 and not Pillars of Eternity; I would highly recommend Pillars of Eternity.
I enjoyed Type-0 well enough but go into it knowing your first playthrough is going to be strange. You only get half the story in the first run and you will often feel severely underleveled unless you go out into the overworld and grind. I got through the whole thing without grinding but some portions of the game were a gigantic pain in the ass as a result.

Definitely not Type-0 then.

Buy a Persona or SMT instead

vampire bloodlines with the new unofficial patch 9.5

I finished most of SMT games and overall played a lot of RPGs but not those two I made the thread about.

Type-0 be it than.

Here you go lad.
I love type-0
But the story is pretty meh for first playthrough. Due to the limited time system its inpossible to do all the character development exploration in one run. Takes at 3 runs to comeplete, but man when you get the secret ending. By then you'd have fallen completely for the chars. Amazing game, my fav ff game for sure. Its no surprise it was such a big hit in japan, but to a western audience i can understand how the storytelling can be a huge turn off

OP here.
I'm buying type 0 as we speak from the Euro store. It's only 12,5 eur now.

>I don't care about what kind of combat it is.
Biggest lie on the internet.

Well I can live with turn based combat, baldurs gate-like or tales-like combat and I'd certainly be happy with Resonanse of Fate like combat.
