I'm done. Put like 60 to 70 hours into it and now I'm so burnt out on it I probably won't play it for months if not a year. DLC could be neat when it comes out, but DS2's DLC was pretty shit outside of one or two bosses in my opinion so we'll see.
Right now it's up there for GOTY, but not very high. It was a good game. Not an amazing game, hell maybe not even a great game. But it was good. Better than DS2 by far, but not at DS' level. I enjoyed it, but it probably won't be the game I come back to constantly.

the combat, level design, fairness, exploration etc are all garbage. Its a linear shitfest where you trudge through two whole types of environments, murky bogs and cathedrals and oh yes there will always be more cathedrals. everything that defined what made dark souls, demon souls & bloodborne good games is absent. The challenge isn't harsh but fair, its cheesy and demands you exploit or die. The combat is fucktarded and says 2 rats can chainstun a man in heavy plate to death. The world isn't interconnected and open ended, theres no sequence breaking, they rely too heavily on retreading dark souls 1.

I thought it was good but I got bored with it after my first playthrough. I played all the others again immediately on a different build when I finished them and it took awhile to get bored. Honestly I think it's just fatigue of the formula after the first three Souls games and then Bloodborne. This is the fifth of the same formula and while I still enjoyed it I'm just tired of these games for awhile.

Yarargul is great pre-rom but when you go through for the story it's a tedious piece of shit where I always resort to running past everything. Mensis is pretty boring in terms of level design and the last half is just reused enemies, but the aesthetics are cool as hell.

People find the nightmare frontier comfy? What the fuck. The nightmare areas are the antithesis of comfy. They're really ugly to look at and have some annoying enemies in them. Central Yharnam is ultimate comfy area of the game. It's a shame the exploration of the city was so limited. The cathedral ward just doesn't have the same look and feel.

Haha nah. The NA launch was a disaster. Giving it to e-celebs 2 fucking weeks early killed all hype for the game. And then when it actually released to everyone, EVERYTHING was fucking broken. Everyone was getting banned except for the hackers. Summon signs weren't even showing up for the vast majority of players.
And aside from that, the game is just not that good overall.

It's a good Souls game and for me has high replayability but that's only because it's incredibly short and linear. So far I've made about 9 profiles and New Game + them all. PVP is fun story is interesting and all but it's not GOTY. It's honestly not even the best souls game to me but it's very fun.
I enjoyed it. Will it be GOTY? No. Will it by my GOTY? Maybe, Im waiting on that DLC to make a decision. I liked the game a lot but it has a ton of issues that need fixing.
Also Bloodborne is overrated as fuck. It's the second easiest Souls game behind DS2, everything looks the fucking same and it's such a chore to get through I only played the damn thing once. Sorry not sorry

DS1 is easily the easiest souls with only an actual hard boss midway in the game.

DaS: I liked the game but going back after playing SoFTS and 3, it's clunky. Even with DSFix, PVP Watchdog and that better online experience mods, it still felt clunky.
Das2SOTFS: I liked the game, hated the idea of soul meta. I'd dare say too many bosses but 3 felt like there were too few bosses.
3: Visually great, short story, not much else to do in NG+ other than achievo hunt.

In bloodborne you have to dodge correctly to avoid sweep attacks and sure you get to do it alot but still need to go in the right direction.

You just have to realize no one here plays these games for their gameplay. They're always clinging to superficial aspects. I was expecting this when I fired it up during the Global Restart, but I disagree, it controlled better than I was expecting coming straight from DaS3. The menu system still felt as clunky as ever, though.
So far, yes, but with Nier: Automata, Ni-Oh, Dishonored 2 and South park coming up I doubt DaS3 will manage to hold that title to the end of the year.

Not really, you're still whatever SL you were before the respec and you're going to want builds at different SL for MP. If anything it just saves you the trouble of having to run a new character through because you fucked up and wasted 5 points or something. You're still going to want multiple characters, doesn't make much sense to respec each time you want to do a new build anyway.
