Containment thread for people who actually backed it
Fuck you /v/ I was hyped for this back in 2013 and I couldn't get my money back after whatsername became community manager
>>342201320
Really don't know what to expect from it anymore.
Reviews are pointing to it being bad, and from what the IGN one mentions, there's a chance the weapon from the first boss is similar to MM2's Metal Blade where it just outclasses every other weapon/transformation.
Difficulty seems to be either piss easy or one hit kill things like the fire boss exploding on you, like they didn't even know how to properly balance things or do challenging levels so they just threw some bullshit in there.
And from some threads that are popping up, it seems the game runs badly on all platforms.
I just don't understand how a group of people who supposedly worked on Megaman titles could fuck this one up to this level.
>>342201320
>>342202521
From what I hear the Wii U version is plagued with technical issues.
In the email I got from them this morning it said that the game releases today in North America and Asia
... What about Europe
>>342203252
Weeks or months later because censorship and laws issues in your europoor countries.
I'm not even mad anymore. It feels like I was an investor in the Hindenberg. The sheer tragedy of it all makes my anger pale in comparison.
I'm just waiting for my key so I can unsubscribe from their emails and finally get off this meme train. I backed this game, Armikrog, and Broken Age and they've all been terrible, crowd funding never again.
>>342201320
$20 checking in. Just to reference it, earlier negative start thread actually turned into some good discussion including what happened to Akira Kitamura, >>342188717.
And yeah, the tech demo in particular (which was at least animated unlike the concept art) really did seem to have some promise, too bad the whole thing was such a clusterfuck. I'm not even going to bother claiming my key, I blocked them a while back. I hope you didn't put in much OP.
>>342203252
Tight budget. Releasing a special set of European 1s and 0s must be very expensive, just like how 4chan posts cost an extra shilling a piece over there. Conman is trying his best for you anon.
I hate this trainwreck so much and yet I'm also annoyed I haven't gotten my key yet
Like fuck you I paid to be a part of this suffering so you'd better give me my helping of shit

You're not going to believe this, but they have fucked up THREE more times.
>Xbox 360 release delayed due to certification bug in the gold release
>Mac/Linux releases delayed
>Backers are receiving two DLC codes for the Retro Hero via Humble Bundle, instead of their Ray DLC code
kickstarter /projects/mightyno9/mighty-no-9/posts/1609534
So is this the new TORtanic?
/v/ never had much faith in this after the disaster with the forums.
>>342203570
Wow, what a string of unfortunate choices. For me this is one of my two real failures, my first was Shadowrun which I consider to have been worth it after Dragonfall, FTL & SSZ were fun, Volgarr was great, etc.
The other failure was Project Phoenix though which looks like an even worse stinker at this point and will probably never ship so you can laugh at me on that one. At least I never backed any of those for much.
>>342201320
I wish it didn't come out. I want another reason to rip on it, but who knows? It seems to be like a never ending train wreck.
Enjoy the quality soundtrack /v/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WNTYzRLTN68

>>342203879
Hot damn, this is disgusting.
How done is Keiji Inajewne after all this?
>>Unfortunately, we do have two pieces of bad news regarding the Mighty No. 9 release. There were issues regarding the publishing process for the Xbox 360 version of the game, and a certification bug was found in the final round of testing which is delaying the release of that version for several days.
>our shit was so buggy MS wouldn't even let us ship it
>>The Mac/Linux Steam builds of the game are also in final testing by Deep Silver. These two versions of the game should be ready within a few days as well. We will keep our backers updated as the situation evolves.
>we are so incompetent we couldn't manage to get fucking unity to work cross platform despite an extra year
>Have a Mighty release day everyone!(`_´)ゞ
Asking again from another thread.
Anyone have any intention of getting or playing this game at all?
http://www.strawpoll.me/10540407
The response so far was an overwhelming "no".
>>342203252
Europe and Australia/New Zealand get the game on the 24th.
>>342204029
It'll take more than this to ruin Inafune, he'll still get gigs on the strength of his Capcom CV for better or worse.
Japan Studio and Inafune have both said they'd like to collaborate on a new Soul Sacrifice sometime in the future, which I'm honestly good with, since Inafune can still churn out some good stuff if he's kept on a leash. Same deal with ReCore (Where he's producing it and doing the character and robot designs), it has a chance of being quite good on the basis that Inafune simply won't have the opportunity to be dishonest with the funding, since he's not nearly audacious enough to try and fuck with Microsoft.
>>342203982
If its DRM free, why cant you just upload it now?
>>342204232
you know whats great? the humble bundle installers look like shitty, rushed malicious executables

>>342204307

>>342204252
Honestly, I'm happy to get it from the discount bins for 15 bucks in 6 months.
I just don't get it, inafune should have an idea at least of how making a game works, all those years in the industry and he fuck things up this hard.
He couldn't even handle ONE game on his own, and the only thing he had to do was to create a decent quality megaman clone.
>>342204361
>retro hero executable
Do you have to launch that to play the game using that skin, or is that just how Humble Bundle handles dlc?
OK, I GOT MY CODES FOR THE GAME AND THE DLCS, BUT ONE OF THE CODES IS ACTUALLY WRONG, IT'S A DUPLICATE OF ANOTHER DLC
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHkill me pleasethey still offer the DLC as a direct download
>>342203745
why did this get a fucking 3DS release? How far was it on the stretch goals?
>>342204290
Yeah, if someone can bring Inafune onboard in the right, subservient role, where he's not actually in charge of running anything but just illustrations and the like, he can probably go back to doing other work. This is likely the (rightful) end of him being able to strike out on his own and make his own business, but that doesn't mean he can't go back to just being an employee/consultant or whatever for somebody else, maybe even a little better for having had his shit stomped. That happens a fair amount, people who are good at one thing think "if only I was in charge of everything" then try it out, find out that nope, that didn't work, and end up going back to focusing.
He'll hopefully never be put in any leadership position ever again though, except as an art head or something.
>>342201320
>caring about the community manager

Asking for anyone that has the "special powerup" DLC and the "Gold Beck" DLC to come forward and share the installation files because these are DRM free and will make a package with all the content if i get the last 2 dlcs
>>342204608
its in the settings. same applies for gold beck,
>Publisher
>Not Deep Silver
>>342204232
Don't diss Unity man, it was done in Unreal.
The MN9 animated series makes this blunder ten times worse.
>>342204423
>and the only thing he had to do was to create a decent quality megaman clone.
It's sad that that's what people seemed to want, right down to the NotRoll. I was hoping for something not quite Megaman myself, but got Megaman-but-worse. The people keep wanting rehashes but simply in higher level graphics. It's disappointing how people buy into formulas rather than novelty.
>>342204843
I think that might be even worse then, Unreal is fucking everywhere too. Epic even put it on the fucking iPhone, like five years ago. UT3 runs on a toaster.
THEY DELAYED IT ON LAUNCH DAY. THIS IS NOT A JOKE. I'M LIVING IN A SITCOM.
PS codes won't redeem. Not sure if I should even care enough to want to play it ASAP.
>>342204835

They shipped a broken DLC as well.

>>342204423
Easy, it's a case of him getting ahead of himself and trying to use the K$ money to establish MN9 as a franchise before the game was even out, so competent production personnel took a back seat to marketing deals.
>>342204636
Absolutely. It's unlikely, but pray this whole MN9 debacle serves as something of a wakeup call to him and he at least makes an attempt to get his shit together.
Honestly, I still do very much like Inafune's distinctly '80s-style of art and design.
So it's already decided which game had the worst lauch in the entire generation?

MN9's soundtrack played it pretty safe and just went with the same kind of synth-heavy poppy stuff as mid-late '90s Megaman. The OST is probably the best thing about it, actually.

Sorry, that green text was me. I was thinking it was about over and we were down to just a bunch of bad reviews before they slunk away. A total launch blunder though for such a basic game, with even small details like not even changing the fucking build company fucked up, is truly fitting. I love it.
And just to fuck me up even further, this one guys, this sole guy, is making a metroid clone that looks quite amazing for being an amateur game.
Fuck me.

I tried doing that one time, but didn't get any artist takers

Why did you let this happen, /v/?
>>342206330
It mainly went into marketing and franchising deals, as opposed to, you know, actually assembling a decent number of competent development personnel.
ReCore is being funded by Microsoft, which as the other guy said, has a chance of being quite good on the basis that Inafune is actually in a support role and not heading the project.
Just got my keys, everything looks in order and I'm gonna download and boot this bitch up.

>"Well, you see a lot of Kickstarters don't actually get finished, but here we actually finished the game, and that's an important thing."
>>342203754
Four times. PSN codes aren't working.
And not really their fault, but Steam won't update to let you download the game until 10AM.
So, basically, the ONLY people who can play it are 3DS and Humble Bundle people.
No one will talk about it, but Mn9 suffered because Inafune tried to do what Level-5 does; which is to release a franchise and not just a game. Unfortunately, Level-5 pours over research, has preestablished history with non-vidya studios, actually releases everything basically at once, and knows when to end a series. Hell, the president is so pissed that Yokai Watch didn't do so well in American that he's going to look into actually making America only YW games.
Inafune already had his huge amount of money and underestimated how much everything would cost and how long it would take to get the ball rolling.
Did anyone buy the NES cart USB drive? I did but I didn't get any sort of confirmation for shipping at all.
>>342206330
I don't think that at all, I honestly think this was just incompetence.
I know you guys love your con man meme but anytime you actually see the guy himself it really seems like Inafune genuinely likes Megaman. He isn't like Tim Schafer where he has this rock star personality, he's usually pretty friendly with fans and the like. It seems more likely he's just a talentless hack.
>>342206536
Franchising doesn't work that way IIRC, from what I know if anything money goes the other way around.
I saw Caleb hart playing it, was so in denial

Japanese producers are always a support role, they don't actually head projects. It's a prestige job you take after a certain amount of time directing games, typically. It's why Kamiya still being a director is weird, and why Mikami wanted to make his own studio.

hi
I backed the fuck out of it, are you kidding me? Creator of Mega Man needs my help? Sign me the fuck up, take my $60. You deserve it anyway since I only paid for one of your NES games and just bought the other ones used or played them on ROMs.
I couldn't have expected the beautiful trainwreck that would happen. The last two years have been fantastic, getting to see a game make all the bad decisions in slow motion. And I love it, I don't even care. It's like when you go to a strip club and only give your $20s to the ugly fat chick with scars. She needs it. She needs support to keep entertaining everyone else who's going to see ugly sad chicks strip for us. I don't have to tip the hot strippers, the Witchers or Dark Souls or whatever, they'll do fine without me. But because I backed this godawful mess of a game we have great stories about terrible mistakes. You're welcome.
>>342207338
>BC was extremely mediocre and has a lot of serious flaws
It was not nearly as flawed as people like to tout around. More people have issues for things the game isn't rather than what it is, and that is unjust criticism. I'm not going to parade around like it was the greatest game of all time, but the gameplay was really solid, it had fantastic level design, and it had an incredible OST. The multiplayer while it was alive was also incredibly original and a blast, but no one ever bothered to get into it and it died quickly. The major problems with the game come from the story, everything else is a minor issue, they can stack up and some of those minor issues are annoying like not being able to replay levels, but people talk about it like it was the worst game ever made when it's nowhere near that bad. It was like a 7 out of 10 at worst, but people were more intent on memeing than trying to be objective.
>and Rearmed 2 was a shitshow
Fuck off it was fine.

Because you can tell majority of the budget didn't go into the game like it should have, but endorsing shit like merchandise and licensing a cartoon, and future promotions the count the chicken before it even hatches, meanwhile the devs were scrambling to keep workers satisfied, probably even had a good amount of lay offs to fit the staff with the remaining budget. This is still great that it failed, MN9 backers win either way because the pretty much became Inafune's ( the man who played a big part in Capcom horrible decisions) downfall giving them all that money, or might have help given birth to an amazing series that just had a really rocky start. If I were a backer I just be curious in how he'll weasel out of this as well as how Capcom would few this, hopefully a change to dust of megaman with an "Accept no imitations" attitude.

Can you (or anyone else with the game) confirm whether they actually put backer's real names in the credits if they didn't supply them, or did it just end up being something generic?
I thought fedoras didn't exist in Japan
>>342208187
Same here. Now that this ride's about to end, I just feel kinda sad.
I had some fun shitposting, but I really wish we could've gotten a good game out of this instead, /v/. I just wanted a decent action shooty platformer game. It wasn't just Inafune. They had stage designers, artists and musicians from Megaman. They had Inti. Where did it all go so wrong?
>>342208193
i just burst into laughter
>>342208018
?
>>342208278
i will check this
Remember when Dinah first took over as community manager, gave the world the first red flag about this shit, and Gamer Gate was actually right about something for the first and only time ever?
You know the real true tragedy? Making a decent Megaman game isn't hard. Megaman games had the virtue of letting you learn the game by playing it.
>>342208278
They put "A Generous Backer," iirc
>" Its not perfect but it's better than nothing"
Boy does this dude know how to market his product.
"It's better than nothing."
Mighty Number 9, everybody. That's a box quote right there.
>>342208254
This was back in the 2000s or something, man. No doubt things have changed.
>>342205298
And your name is in the credits.
Forever.
"Mighty No. 9 - It was better than nothing"
>>342208332
Yeah.
/v/ started an e-crusade over a woman in Comcept and disrupted the game's development. Thanks for killing videoganes, /v/. You are the cancer.
So has Inafune realized his career is over and he's never going to get money for anything again?
"Pizzagasm"

Thank you for enduring the stream for us too lazy to bother
Dont forget to take funny shots of chat/Conman's face for the sake of history
God just reading the posts in this thread quoting what's being said makes me hope there's going to be a compilation of this made.
>>342208230
Nah, Kamiya had it totally backwards there though, or maybe mixed up the English. Inafune's problem is precisely that he's NOT a businessman, at all. He's a pure creative/art type, he has zero management skills, financial accumen or whatever. He apparently does fine as long as he's kept on a tight leash by higher ups with actual leadership capabilities. He's like every fucking "creative" who builds a name while facing off against editors/project managers/accounting/whatever, and then gets big enough to FINALLY REALIZE THEIR TRUE VISION FREE OF THE SHACKLES, and then it turns out they're utter shit without being provided a framework and external realistic constraints, deadlines and direction. This is not new, crowdfunding is just teach a new generation this valuable lesson.
>>342208491
>implying
I'm gonna back his next project too, I don't give a fuck. I've never had so much fun following a shitshow of a game development. The game itself is irrelevant, I'm just impressed he found new ways to fuck everything up.
>>342206328
>from the burning remains of one kickstarter on to the next
You people who back things are morons
>>342208491
From a KS or Enty project? No.
As an ideas guy in some company? Sure.
ANIME CANCELLED
>>342208332
They claimed that the game would be infected with SJW nonsense but I think it's pretty fucking obvious that not only is that not the case, but the problems it does have are entirely unrelated to anything the now ex-community manager did.

Holy fuck, these guys
>>342208230
That's wrong though. A business man can make and keep a budget.
someone just post a megadownload already
>>342208591
$15 I am not going to miss.
Seriously though? It is shaping out quite good, even if it is taking forever.
>>342206328
"Dust" would be a prime example.
>>342208307
>i will check this
Thank you.
>>342208350
If so great, that's what I'd thought, but then I saw some people asking to have their names removed. If that's just because they were foolish enough to supply them themselves and no regret it then fine, but given their decision making up to now I'm somewhat nervous they just pulled it from payment information for the final build.
>Inafune is bailing already
So when can we expect the game and the DLC to be up on MEGA for everyone?
>It's up to us whether the game is going to succeed or fail
Okay, now I'm pissed.
>>342208332
>Gamer Gate was actually right
Not really. That bitch was a cunt but she also didn't matter, like every other evil deep cover SJW out to destroy games GG targeted.
>>342208581
Largely similar to Kojima's giant drop in quality when he lost his foil in Fukushima and started surrounding himself with yes-men like Murata and Imaizumi.
Didn't the game look better if you turned the gamma down or something? I can't remember.
>>342201320
>those people's face when they backed this trash and still try so hard to like it
>>342208807
whenever we also get the special powerup (initial backer only) and gold beck (whenever the fuck that happens)
>>342208750
They're just late to the party and asking about questions that have already been answered. Fuck, there's people asking if they can get REFUNDS at this point.
>>342205298

I think this goes without saying
>>342208212
Most regions can't yet, though even if you are in the US, seems like a lot of the keys being sent out are invalid and aren't working at all.
>>342204252
I already backed this shit, and gonne trough the whole cycle of grief, might as well play it... Or at least I would if the codes worked, con man can't do anything right for fucks sake.

I think some anon just turned off the lighting or something and it made it look a lot better.

This was the only stage I wasnt able to beat in the prototypes because of a bug that crashed my systems

>>342209103

>>342208841
Yeah, though I think in modern times the ultimate biggest example would be George Lucas. In terms of sheer global money and franchise power for somebody becoming utterly corrupted, incapable of tolerating criticism/shared control and surrounding themselves with terrified/greedy sycophants he has to be near or at the top.
But this is true anywhere with creatives, happens all the time even with books. Some author gets too big for their editor to constrain anymore, and suddenly you see their word count balloon and books go from reasonably tight stories to 800-1000 page monstrosities full of pages of descriptions of the genealogy of the man who made the antique floor wax used on the old section of the dining room beneath the rug.
>tfw Inafune-san goes home and commits sudoku
>>342209229
>Shit
You already said it
Does anyone still have Buzzword Simulator 2014.jpg?
>>342208332
No, all GG did was distract us from the fact that Inafune was a hack regardless of whatever Dina did, which was rather very little outside forum and twitter drama bullshit. Nearly everything was rigged from the getgo and Inafune wasn't going to pay actual talented people to develop his ideas for him in a talented or even decent way. Fuck off and die you stupid /pol/ shit.
Man, the stream is really fucking sad.
The pizza eater is just full of excuses

this fucker needs to shut up. nobody cares. autism.
This wouldn't have happened if more people had backed the game.
