How's Robobot
>One Kirby thread dies
>3 others surface immediately after
Holy shit guys, chill.Glad that everyone seems to enjoy these threads though.
>>342195224
Robobot was so good that I'm going to buy RtDL and Triple Deluxe.
Also Susie is hot
Robobot is nice. It puts its gimmick to better use than Triple Deluxe did and much more frequently. The robot is also much more enjoyable to use than hyper nova.I still think Triple Deluxe had the better final boss.
I know we all love Kirby, but least favorite game in the series? (That you've played)
>>342195712
I don't even dislike it, it's just "okay."
>>342195446
They're the only reason I even come to /v/ anymore anon.
>>342195712
Tilt n tumble or whatever. I don't know. It's been years since I played it. Just remember it being rage inducing. Can't say I actively dislike any Kirby game.
>>342195972
ANON GET OUT.
THICK[/spoiler[
>>342196207
>file name
Holy fuck
>>342195712
This one. Level design is so bad. Too many animal partners resulted in too many combinations and trial and error for power-based obstacles and puzzles.
But it's nice to look at and the soundtrack is good, so it's merely a 6/10 or so, despite being the worst, still.
>>342195712
This is the only one I'd call bad. It's gorgeous, but jesus christ is playing it a chore
>>342195712
Squeak Squad. Now then and forever.
>>342196207
THICK!!!!
>>342195712
Squeak Squad or Dream Land 2.
Squeak Squad was generally underwhelming & Dream Land 2 while I love Dark Matter the level design just wasn't fun for me. Still fine-good games though overall.
>>342195446
Kirby threads on /v/ seems to be the only place where active discussion takes place.KRR is still kinda alive, but I'll be back there when there's more activity going on.
>>342197282
I can't see myself doing Kirby discussion anywhere else to be honest, shit just works better here, regular forums are too slow and divided.
Here we get one thread every now and then discussing just about everything, used to its full extent then sometime later (from hours to days) we get another. Forumsand sites that shall not be namesjust don't allow for this kind of centered discussion and spontaneity. That's not even getting to anonymity, its a great format, "you're here forever" memes aside
>>342195712
I'm probably gonna get some flak for this but probably Kirby's Dream Land on Game Boy. This was literally the first Kirby game, so no powers, and the game itself was piss-easy (even by Kirby standards) even on hard difficulty.
>>342195224
I am really surprised how many people don't recognize Star Dream's design as Nova.
>>342198036
I love the kitty stars, although Star Dream makes me wonder what clockwork stars would look like in other colors than yellow or white.Mrrooooww
>>342198036
based on what? I'm pretty sure everyone in the threads knows, its so obvious pointing it out would be like pointing out Kirby can copy shit this time around. That and the lore goes deeper and no one wants to swim on the surface
>>342198494
SomeLP'ershave made comments like "what the fuck is this kitty cat thing?!" when they encountered it.
>>342196524
I didn't find an issue playing it, but the game can't appease to everyone. But you got to admit, the music is really top notch.

>>342198864
>>342199064
It's pretty disappointing, too.
Nova seemed like such a memorable character in the series.
>>342198810
Wow. That's pretty good.
>>342199263
we need more art dedicated to Kirby environments and such
>>342195554
Susie is love and life. I wonder if she'll get a cameo in the next Kirby game.
>>342199263
>>342195691
It certainly does. Hypernova was good for the first time playing it, but after replaying the game for quite some times it starts to get really stale.Disagree with you on the final boss though, PR was the most hyped boss I've ever played on a Kirby game. It just makes me excited/worried if HAL could top this one.
>>342199064
>>342198036
The only Kirby games I've played or recall playing were Kirbys Dream land, Kirbys Dream Land 2, I think I played air ride at a friends hours, Amazing Mirror, and I haven't beaten the true arenaor regular arenain Planet Robobo. I own Triple Deluxe but I've only played the first few levels and and I think I own super star ultra.
I'm way behind on the Kirby series arn't I? I have no idea who half these guys are. What game is Nova in? Is there a way I can get caught up on Kirby lore without actually going out and buying kirby games for consoles I might now own?
Someone saved that pic with humanizations of every single Kirby's villain up to triple deluxe? It was posted on Sunday's thread.
>>342199967
Nova appears in Milky Way Wishes in both Super Star and Super Star Ultra, as well as Meta Knightmare in Super Star Ultra.
Oy,Kirby drawfag here, How's it been? I currently have the urge to draw some more but dunno what the fuck to draw. That and like I'm mixed about talking about me and my friend's crossover idea considering the faggots from a previous thread didn't give me and my friend good constructive criticism for me and a friend's music idea, despite wanting help.
So, any sketch requests? Keep in mind there will be ones I'll do, and others I won't depending on the context, so yeah.
>>342199263
Here mines senpai.
>>342199395
There's quite a lot anon, you just need to look harder. The fanart of Popstar's locations and environment is what made me really want a 3D Kirby game. I just want to explore these areas.
>>342199967
Super Star or its remake are really must plays, lore shit really got kicked off with RtDL and some of the shit Magolor says if you have 100% though
>>342200069
I got you covered.
Just picked up my copy yesterday, haven't started playing yet.
>>342199263

>>342200923
3 and 64 have really amazing art direction, and that's why I like them so much
To me, they feel like paintings you can play. But I do understand they are a little slow
>>342200957
*Kuja
Autocorrect, you piece of shit, why I can't turn you off?!
>>342196524
Maybe if they'd split it into a bigger number of shorter levels, instead of having a small number of levels that drag on forever. It was especially awful when you went back for collectibles, moreso if it was a slow-as-shit autoscroller, and even worse if it was to grab the end-of-level roulette prize (unless you used a spare Wiimote for a Waddle Dee carry, which made it completely trivial).
>>342200826
>tfw my favorite is Squeak Squad
>everybody fucking hates it for some reason
>>342201205
squeak squad has cool ideas, and the kirby advance engine is really solid, but at the same time it feels rushed and half-baked
>>342201000
Nice trips
Maybe Susie could work for Magolor and help with theme park management while he develops and builds
>>342195224
Why is Wheel Robobot so fucking fun to use?
>>342201000

>>342195224
>no Spear
>no Wing
>no Needle
>no Bell
>no Beetle
There is literally no excuse for this since they were all in Triple Deluxe, at least let me choose them in the arena.
>>342200826
I don't think anybody genuinely hates any Kirby game for non-personal reasons. Hence why the question posed earlier was "least favorite."
The fact that you can jump right into any lesser-known game in the series, like Mass Attack, and have a fantastic time, really speaks to Kirby as a series.I honestly thought Mass Attack had the best OST of all of them before Robobot came out
>>342201403
Cus you can go fast but not be on railsim mad that my favorite abilities mech is just a shooter section
On an unrelated note, i love all the little things characters do in robobot, like suzie, haltmann, and D3 all putting their hands up in the air before their mech explodes like "if i dont touch shit its not my fault"
>The dreamstalk is supposed to be a permanent landmark of Kirby's adventure in TDX
>Doesn't appear at all in Robobot, which is confirmed to be after TDX by Meta Knightmare Returns
Does the Kirby series have a timeline?
>>342199316

>>342201049
K64 art direction is really good. It's one of those games that don't lose their charm even after many years has passed.
>>342201403
My question is why is there never an opportunity to put Burn Rubber to use? You'll one shot anything you drive into already, so there's never a reason to use an attack that covers both sides.
>>342201205
It just didn't do much at the wrong place and time and ended up as the punching bag everyone could throw around at "what's the worst kirby game guise? :^)" without getting everyone upset
I legit played the shit out of Squeak Squad, probably more than or as much as Adventure/NiDL, its just pure Kirby all throughout, but its a double edged sword as it didn't stand out and was easy pickings because a game has to take the fall apparently
Also Dark Nebula was pretty lame and a lot of Kirby games make their mark with the final bosses
>>342201537
Honestly, Mass attack had some of the coolest subgames that took the ten kirbys theme and ran with it.
>Kirby Quest
>Strato Patrol EOS
Kirby RPG game when, HAL?
>>342201547
I don't mind the shooter sections, but it's weird how Jet gets all the slow music tracks, while Wheel gets all the awesome ones.
>>342195691
The final boss battle brought back memories of amazing mirrors. It fucking rocked and I loved the hell out of it
I admit I cry Everytime I see the ending
>>342201562
Maybe.
It's clear certain games take place after another. Also don't think too hard about certain things.
Like how in Dreamland 3's true ending Popstar is supposed to have three rings around it.
>>342201710
>Strato Patrol EOS
AKA: MAKE A ROSALINA GAME LIKE THIS, NINTENDO!
>>342201562
I'm pretty sure its just release order, while the dreamstlak didn't show up (which was a tad disappointing) the boss descriptions make clear callbacks to TD having happened, Coily Rattler is "past battle data", the People of the Sky having been spared mechanization andSectonia was cloned out of the Dreamstalk which Haltmann found
>>342201807
I dont mind that there are shooter sections, these are probably the best they've been in a kirby game, im just a bit miffed that jet doesn't get to be a free-roaming super-speed mech.
>>342201562
The first games in the timeline are the dark matter trilogy
the animal friends die at the end and zero becomes meta knight
don't be starting another Kirby thread without me :(
>>342201205
Its main gimmick had potential but was barely utilized for anything remotely interesting (despite some of the advertising making it sound deeper than it actually was), and the game as a whole had its interesting ideas that never really got to meet their full potential. Ghost was one of the coolest copy ability concepts Kirby's ever had and it couldn't even drop through floors or climb down ladders.
If there's any series that could use a bit more rehashing (besides the stellar reuse of music tracks), it's Kirby. Too many games have had a really interesting mechanic exclusive to them that could be brought back and fleshed out more, maybe even made better by mixing some of them together. Imagine if we had a game with 64 power mixing and a Squeak Squad inventory, helping you to explore an Amazing Mirror style open map and solve puzzles. I dunno about you guys but I'd play the shit out of that.
...and let us unlock a cool mega power again. Why are Amazing Mirror and Squeak Squad the only Kirby games to let you grab an ultimate power to screw around with?
>>342201710

I'm sure the developers could come up a crazy mechanic for Kirby and pals. However I like what a fan's interpretation of a Kirby RPG would be like, in the style of Romancing Saga.

Don't listen to this flowchart, you need to play Dream Land 2, Dream Land 3, and Kirby 64 in that order, as they are a trilogy. Also, play everything before Planet Robobot.

I agree
kirby lore is more important than most people think

Jun Ishikawa, who made the Kirby music along with Hirozaku Ando since the very beginning, also made music for this game as well. The final boss music is fucking sweet as well.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UG-HO1ERRNE
Although I think HAL had some support with Square Enix when creating Alchest, I'm not really sure either.
>>342202272
HyperZone is pretty tough as well, and was one of HAL's biggest game to release on the SNES as well. It got some subpar graphics too. Ishikawa also did the track for this game as well.
>>342202430
Sakai's work on Mass Attack and Rainbow Curse is pretty sweet to listen. His work also references music from the Kirby anime as well.
>>342202175
I hope this suffice anon.
>>342203230
I was thinking about noting that but never did when making it. If the person follows the Primitive gameplay line they'll most likely play the Dark Matter trilogy correctly. If the bosses are called EX in the True Arena, what would they be called in then True Arena EX? SP?
It's been 13 years since Kirby Air Ride and there's still no sequel. Did it not get enough sales or is Nintendo just like "We already have Mario Kart, why make another racing game?"
>>342203857

Didn't quite help they put Air ride Mario Kart and F-Zero out in the same year..
>>342203857
I think I recall it did get poor sales & reviews since Double Dash & F-Zero GX were both released the same year as it.
>>342203857

>>342203751
In all honesty its the truth, many reviewers felt that way. Still I always felt is was really atmospheric and the world was more interesting in comparison to kirby games, even other shimomura games. Tap an amiibo and you get a copy ability, every amiibo is compatible!
>>342205936
And yes, even Kirby Kirby. Yeah, find out how that works.
>>342206137
City Trial with friends, its a hell of a drug and /v/'s current demographic was born at just the right time to play it as kids/teens
>>342206159
Yeah but in the moveset department didn't really have much.
>>342205839
i drew my dumb concept
>>342206137
I think the fact that it sticks to being an exclusively multiplayer game through the lack of any substantial single player content hurts it as a video game, but it is pretty great with friends.
>>342205839
>Sand (bucket hat)

Pirate Kirby when?!Only if there's a game based on Water as it's theme for the setting I suppose..
>>342202595
All games are connected, I've typed up a huge effort post before and got some people to generally agree on it. It's pretty cool
>>342206038
It looksCUTE, thanks anon!
A Starfy and Kirby crossover? That would be neat to play, now I'm curious on how the game would play. Now I'm imagining a crossover between those two and BOXBOY! with the final boss beingKing Egger from the Adventure of Lolo and Lala.
>>342206096
Radical Kirby, vibrates through walls and shit.
Poison Kirby in PR screams to me that it's actually a recolored Water Kirby, but I haven't actually played any of the games with Water Kirby in it, how accurate am I?
>>342206661
A pirate themed Kirby game would be amazing. Why is this not a thing yet?
>>342205839
METAL KIRBY
>>342205839
>engineer kirby
Sounds good
>cat kirby
Might as well just use Animal
>boat kirby
I can't really visualize this
>mace kirby
boring
>pizza kirby
dumb
>spade kirby
you mean gardening spade or playing cards?
>parkour kirby
that's pretty much any of the current acrobatic kirbies
>computer kirby
not specifically computers, but a hi tech moveset would work
>>342195712
>>342203187
I'd have to say it is between these two, although probably more towards Canvas Curse. Don't know, maybe it's because I played Rainbow Curse first after liking it so much and maybe I expected too much, Canvas Curse is just so forgettable and the controls are kinda bad compared to the sequel. I also agree that the music is the most disappointing thing of all as I believe literally 95% of the songs are mediocre remixes, its a wonder why so many made it in to Planet Robobot.
>>342206795
Similar dash, spout, and shoot water/poison attack.
>>342206795
It seems that way but Water doesn't have any of the damage over time hazards, and poison doesn't have a cool dash or spit propulsion
But Poison is a spin on Water, a pretty good one I'd say though
>>342206795
pretty much. it shares 3 of the same base moves, the rest are new and the old ones have tweaks that make the power waaaay better
>>342200412
>trying True Arena with Whip
>that fucking damage
Its basically sword if it was worth a damn, why does /v/ shit on whip so much?
guys help, i want to fuck elline and i feel stupid about it

Lizard Kirby!

Just jack off to her.
You'll probably regret it, but at least your mind will be somewhat clear.

Here, updated it. I think this is now the best this chart can currently be. Don't think it skips over any valuable information & acknowledges other ways to start the series.

bro how the hell do you have the time to show up in every kirby thread
you're chill but damn that's some dedication
>>342195712
I'm the same guy who complained about this game a few threads ago. This game isn't fun for me at all.
Kirby Confessions?I've never been able to complete a True Arena without the use of the Stone ability.
>>342207989
He's not that different from the rest of us here. Kirby threads are always populated by the same group of poeple.
>>342207496
>Chameleo Arm: The Ability
I could dig it
>>342207989
I just like Kirby anon.
It's been sometime since I posted in these threads though. I only started looking for these not too long ago.
>>342208157
I never beaten a True Arena without Hammer.
Most abilities do shit damage anyways.
>>342195712
Squeak Squad. I 100%ed it the day I got it and I never touched it since. It wasn't a bad game but it was a pretty bland one, the only thing I remember from it are some of the bosses and part of the story.
>>342204313
/ywg/ represent
>>342208157
I find Helper to Hero borderline impossible without Bonkers, Rocky or Tac.
https://www.nintendo.co.jp/3ds/at3a/special/index.html
This has been up for a while I'm sure but its pretty neat, concept art for Roobot levels
Last one was made by Kumazaki, I could just tell it was his before I went ahead and translated it.
If anyone hasn't seen his crazy art:
http://kumayou.halfmoon.jp/gallery/index.html
>Find out about the True Arena from /v/
>do Metaknightmare returns in Planet Robobot to unlock it and enjoy the end
>go back to Triple Deluxe and do Dedede Tour expecting something similar
>it's a massive fucking slog
Holy shit the last world is 50 minutes long, as long as the previous 5 worlds combined, what the fuck were they thinking? Also those powerups in Metaknightmare Returns are a fucking godsend compared to Dedede tour in Triple Deluxe.
>>342208670
It's fitting that the current director of Kirby is super into surrealist art.
>>342195224
Pretty shit. Luckily I pirated, because I would have been pissed if I payed money for it.
>>342208842
I liked Dedede Tour. But yeah he's not really speedrun material like Meta Knight is.
>try to get through true arena with fighter
>end up pussying out at Galacta Knight and use the Kirby amiibo for the health
It was a hollow victory. I'll do it legit sometime later.
>>342208931
Nice joke.
>>342208157I beat True Arena in Planet Robobot using ESP and I felt like a coward.
>>342208842
The thing about Dedede Tour is the portals you get that skip big sections of the levels, but it means actually doing the sun stone puzzles as they're usually hidden then
It still takes forever though, HAL's record is just under an hour which is just a regular time for Meta Knightmare
>>342208157
What >>342208385 said
Hammer is debatably the best ability in every single game
>>342198656
>tfw probably the same LP'ers are the ones that put the final boss in the thumbnail
Shit pissed me off so much. I got Star Dream and Dark Mattereven though it was just a clonespoiled because it. The worst part is that I had anything kirby related blacklisted on my youtube blocker, but it glitched for some reason.
>>342208157
I can't enjoy Mass Attack. It's not even a good Kirby game.
Jet is underrated as fuck in robobot
It charges super fast now and the explosion attack does ridic damage. I was able to beat the true arena first time with itactually just kidding i died on the last boss
>>342208157
I have a really hard time enjoying other Kirby platformers after being spoiled by the modern platformers and SSU, so I almost never revisit them even though they're great.
>>342209512
saaaaaaaaaaaaame
I've tried so many times to get into the game and it's not horrible but I always get so bored and quit after the second world. It's just not fun
>>342208157
I don't like how Kirby games keep getting easier and easier. I recently played through Super Star and there's a big difficulty difference between it and Robobot (excluding True Arena).
Good night anons, hope this thread exist later.
>>342209834
Sleep tight, Ribbon-anon.
You guys have any Kirby amiibo?
>>342210318
I have the smash one but I'm poor as shit currently and have a 2DS anyways so I have yet to jump on these
I'll probably regret it a bit if they become rare, but oh well
>>342210318
Just one of Smash Dedede. It's one of the very few Kirby related merchandise I have.I also own a copy of King Dedenie, but I don't think that counts as merchandise.
>>342210318
I want both Meta Knights.
Here, have the smug Kirby sprite from Mirror's dash attack
>>342211067
fuck yes, i always loved that detail in superstar
>>342206263
I beat it on my first try, but that's only because I usedbombs
>Sectonia and Taranza will never have their happy ending
>Haltmann and Susie will never have their happy ending
>>342206778
Hey, no problem! I keep imagining myself as to how the gameplay and story would work and there's SO MUCH POTENTIAL that can be done! And oh really now? Kirby x Starfy x BOXBOY! x Lolo and Lala? That's something I haven't heard of! Like, how would you imagine the scenario?
>>342206858
I don't know anon, I don't know. But HAL's missing out on a pirate ability.
>>342211067
Why is he so smug?
