Yep. I can confirm that only Win10 worked with the adapter initially. I updated my Surface Pro 2 to win10 in order to get the adapter to work with the Elite controller.
I don't hate DS4 at all, but the battery life on it even if turning off the LED is shorter than the Xbox controller. I kind of wish that I can use the xbox controller through bluetooth on my phone actually. That's an advantage the DS4 has on it.

I honestly like it. Been using it for a while now. Haven't felt the need to go back to the 360 controller.

Elite controller's paddles are neat. It's a shame that Microsoft doesn't let me map those paddles as distinct keypresses though. I can only map them to existing buttons on the regular controller, which does limit what I can do with them.
You need Xpadder essentially to map a button to a keypress, and xpadder cannot address the paddles independently.

If you did not press them in a specific certain, and tedious way, it didnt click. It fucking sucked and destroyed my trust for another good XB controller.
