Took me over a year, but I finally finished TW3. I got bad ending and after looking it up, the reasoning is so stupid

Bad end:Ciri fights the white frost and dies because you didn't believe in her hard enough. Geralt kills the crone. His fate is unknown after a ton of monsters swarm his house
The triggers

So essentially, I accompanied Ciri to the meeting because I wanted to know what was going on. So she feels I don't have confidence in her.
I told her to not throw a tantrum like a fucking child and she loses confidence in herself
and I gave her an actual fact of life, telling her she can't be good at everything

Honestly, I think the real issues are how the choices are written. I generally had recent saves so I picked a decision and realized what happen isnt exactly what I expected to happen so I would reload and pick the other only to realize that the other option doesnt even remotely match with what I thought the dialogue choice made it look like and was actually a superior choice.
Like the snowball fight. When I saw the options I thought that decision was actually going to involve him getting her drunk which is a terrible idea. A snowball fight however is a great way to take her mind off the incident
Same with the calm down incident. With the words written as was, the good decision sounded dumb. But once I saw what Geralt had in mind it obviously was the better decision.
Thankfully the game gives you some flexibility. needing only 3/5 to get a good ending.

Some of the blue rarity+ swords will sell for 500-1500 each, so it's a good source of income. But if you're no more quests left to do it's not easy making money unless the glitches still work.

Sometimes I feel it kinda is. I mean sure, Ciri being a Witcher is more romantic and all, but her manning up to be the Empress kinda made sense since she can do a lot more good there and can change a lot more things.
The narrative also keeps telling you being a witcher is shit and they're a dying breed.
I can understand that her following in Geralt's steps feels "better", but I also felt it was kinda fitting with the whole growing up theme 3 had going on for her to go back to Nilfgaard. I liked that almost every single spot had some history written in a random page you find or a diary. Makes it feel more like something happened around the place and not just be a generic spot with monsters.

After a while, the quests do settle into a rather predictable pattern. Go here, haggle more money, follow glowing red footprints, kill monster/bandit. Or go here, read letter, follow glowing red footprints, do something or kill monster/bandit, collect reward.
Some of the quests have a neat little story to them or twists, but the actual meat of the quest and their mechanics really start to blend together into a dull mess.

The unique quests they make, like the Roach one, do actually outweigh the repetitive boring ones and the hidden treasure caches. But I do feel they added a little too many sidequests as they start to blend together.
I really wish they didn't put such a reliance on the Witcher vision though, that's what most quests boil down to in the end, follow glowing red things.

although there are a string of sidequests with actual characters that are really good
to me though, I really enjoyed being in the world. I only fast traveled if I had to go to or from skellige. Just ride around with the minimap turned off, navigating with my eyes and sense of direction to where I had to go. So like, the monster quests were an excuse to see more of the world.
Sometimes, you're absolutely right. There's about a thousand question marks that turn out to be bandit camp or sunken treasure or whatever.
I think if you play the game trying to see everything, you get burnt, but if you just sort of ADD-mode the game, you find some interesting things and go on your merry way
