They're not good games. Granted, they improve with each entry but they never really rise above more than just mediocre or passable. Like others have said there are better things to spend your money on if you're starved for an RPG.
I say this as a turbo-weeb who doesn't mind cute girls doing cute things and thinks the designs are the best things about the games.
The battle system isn't bad but it quickly loses any semblance of strategy despite the new features added, and mid to late game encounters and challenges are conquered by sheer brute force either through grinding or exploiting the overpowered characters in the game. You'll probably get tired of watching the skill animations after seeing them the first few times too, so most battles will just be you fast-forwarding through everything.
The story isn't anything great. It's still fairly lighthearted and runs on poking fun at archetypes and tropes, but every now and then tries to serious up in ways that really disconnect with the overall atmosphere and designs. The character interactions can be cute and humorous at times, but again that really depends on how much you enjoy cute girls doing cute things.
Graphics aren't bad and they finally got the game running at a consistent FPS. The world and designs are vibrant but like most CH games there's no creativity in most of the dungeons or environments so they end up being bland and repetitive. Which there's really no excuse for at this point and is just sheer laziness.
It's on sale for like $12 on PSN for the next few days so if you're really on the fence and can't think of anything else to play, I say bite the bullet and get it. Though if it's like Omega Quintet it will likely go on sale again in another month or two for even cheaper than that. If you want to hold onto your money and shell it out for something with more substance while still being in the sort of "easygoing" category, I'd suggest grabbing Atelier Sophie or something.
