If there's any chance of getting legacy servers then why would you risk it by releasing the source code and ruining the relationship between nost and blizz? If blizzard decides that they aren't going to make legacy servers THEN nost can release the source code.

Well, for starters, private servers offer an inferior implementation while many of the implementation details have been lost forever. If for no other reason, official legacy servers would be a godsend since many details are forever lost outside Blizzard's legacy source code and databases, and this time we would be prepared to thoroughly document them such that they wouldn't be lost again.

I've played to level 10, haven't noticed anything wrong. I never played on Nostalrius, but it seems pretty good, other than being located in Central Europe which gives me a pretty garbage ping
