just hacked my 3ds and got eshop. what an ordeal. glad it's done now though. I now realize nothing on the 3DS interests me, though, and I'm wondering why I bought it in the first place. Yes, very much so. I bought my old XL model around 2 and a half years ago.

The charger is not included in the box. Also, get a larger SD card (micro sd in New 3DS case) if you'll pirate or if you buy a lot of download games.
Also, only the NEW models can run SNES games properly if that is important to you (if you don't pirate, you won't be able to play them at all on Old 3DS/2DS).

It's pretty good. I own around 20ish retail games, most of which are good to great and still have to get a number of games. There are quite a few remastered games though (OoT & MM 3D, Star Fox 64, Donkey Kong Country Returns...).

Just buy one now, they're cheap enough and the NX is a while away. The model is up to you, whether you want to play all games at the best speed with the extra nub or if you just want the standard experience (which is still like 99% of the games), non-N3DS models are easier to get into though. The library is pretty good, it's not as good as the DS imo but it has some strong titles easily worth the price of the console (especially if you're just going to pirate anyway). If you are going to pirate and don't have a flashcard from way back when, you should buy one.

I squeeze by with about 30-40fps in the home menu. It drops to 18-20fps with Monster Hunter Generations and I haven't tested any other games.

Something like that except with Thin Men most weapons work against them. With robots your choices are EMP grenades(You carry like three at most, can't get more of them and only one or two of the characters have them), the taser(Glass cannon character is the only one who can wield it from what I remember, it requires you to be right next to the enemy, and I think it shut it down for a single turn), or the sniper guy who could deal maybe like 10 damage out of its 30 or 40 something health bar while using his weapon specifically tailored only for machines so it did garbage damage to humans.

If I remember right didn't rockets require you to switch out of the heavy MG? Heavy MG required you to generally be close to them using that one special turn attack to do around 16 damage, and AP grenades had the same problem as the EMP ones where it did like maybe 14ish damage but they always came in groups which was a pain in the ass. Also, when did you get friendly drones? I can only remember maybe one or two missions that actually had them and I don't remember being able to hack one.
The worst was that village mission though, there were like six to eight of them, then another four spawned after something like three turns, and then two of them constantly respawned until the end. The problem was that every civilian walked straight at them which was awful.

If you hit a null/ref you're almost guaranteed to be fucked, if the enemy hits a weakness of yours you're fucked, if you didn't save you're very fucked.
I've played other smts and 4 is the most unforgiving of them all, also the most unbalanced yet, I'm not really feeling it.
Just finished Phantom Hourglass, moving onto Fire Emblem Fates now I think. Pirating is for poorfags, I waste obscene amounts of money on the eshop instead.

Can't speak for Sticker Star, but Paper Jam was good, not super fantastic but if you liked the other M&L games you'll like that one.
3D Land is a lot of fun, if you liked 3D world you'll most likely like that one, the 3D is pretty good in it too,but not needed.
If you like RPGs you owe it to yourself to play SMT 4 even if its start up is horrendously slow.
A link between worlds is fantastic, I'd say get Kid Icarus Uprising too, but only if you have access to a circle pad pro, or a stand to play.

Well thats a bummer. Thought it would have a similar number of incredibly amazing titles like the DS had: TWEWY, AW:Days of Ruin, Contact, Meteos, DQJoker and Rocket Slime, 999 and many others hidden gems.
So far Im interested in SMT, Persona Q, Pokemon Gen6 and Gen7, VLD and ZTD, Fire Emblem and other JRPGs so I guess a 3DS purchase is justifiable.
Also the cfw stuff for 3DS is quite appealing.

The 3DS has the worst versions of Zero Escape games, with bugs, crashes, save deletions and general downgrades.
The 3DS has legit not RPG worth playing other than SMT 4. Fire Emblem is super boring and the story is super cringe to the point it demotivates you to even continue it. Look up gameplay, its worse than Valkyria Chronicles 2
There are no hidden gems, and i say this as someone whos played a ton of the library.

The only gripe is there's difficulty with taking the mod online since installing the game updates deletes some of the mod effects (namely the shop inventories go back to normal). But the difficulty is cranked way up and I actually shat brix against Roxanne, was definitely a lot of fun.
You would need to edit the patch files to work withe Star/Rutile but I have no clue how to do that and the only wifi patches I know of are for old versions of the mod.
