In WWI germany had already lost the attrition warfare by the time the US joined the fighting. Riots were spreading all over germany as the people didn't want to continue the war and soldiers were disobeying their superiors en mass as they didn't want to die in the last days of a lost war.
In WWII the russians already beat the bulk of the german armed forces and were driving them backwards for years by the time the allies invaded france.
Both times the US joined when most of the fighting was done and winning was basically just a matter of time for the allied forces

The treaty was meant to be a deterrent to stave off future Nazi expansion. There was a belief that fear of the UK and France entering the war would be enough to deter Hitler from invading Poland. The UK and France were too far to do anything meaningful, and the best Poland could hope for militarily was diversionary attacks from the Franco-Germanic border. There has been no greater failed bluff in all of history, and the only thing that prevented the British from joining their French allies in defeat was the same thing that delayed their mobilization: the English Channel.

America was an integral part of WWII. They might not have been been fighting since 1939 (or 1937 if you're asian) but they were supplying or building up forces the entire time. And we're not talking piddly small quantities of supplies. We're talking most of the logistics equipment (trains, trucks, and telegraph cables) for the eastern front and critical food supplies for the British isles. Plus the US entry at the end of 1941 was before all the big reversals in 1942-3, that's hardly the "end" of the war, compared to the near-end entry of WWI.

The US was also increasing production, though at the time had little intention of going to war, just profiting from it, but their close ties to the UK would mean difficulties for Germany.

If Japan didn't attack the US AND Germany didn't attack the USSR he MIGHT have had a chance. This is assuming Stalin would chose not to break the pact himself in 1942 or 1943 when the soviet militarization was completed, or that the US wouldn't have finally felt pressured enough to join the war in 1942 or 1943.
Fact remains that due to the Manhattan project, the US would have nuked Germany to high hell if they were still in the war.

Because America did amazing work in reconstructing the postwar nations, strengthening the ties of the western nations that would have otherwise fallen to communism in the post-war economic downturn.
The American economy might have been better off because of the war (effectively ending the Great Depression) but it didn't become a super power on economics alone. It built fucking NATO which deterred the Soviets from taking all of Europe. Europe and Japan hugely benefited from the United States, as they got brand new industrial equipment to replace everything that was destroyed. Just compare East and West Germany to see how Germany would have been without US postwar aid.

Soviet-Nazi relations at the time were pretty complex, and you'll hear different inside accounts on the mindset of Stalin.
Initially Stalin and Hitler viewed each other as threats, which is why the non-aggression pact was created when Hitler revealed his intention to invade Poland. After all, Poland was a buffer state, and without that buffer state both sides felt vulnerable, and as such a treaty was needed to shore up that vulnerability if that state were to cease existing. Stalin was initially cautious about this arrangement, but threw in his forces to take eastern Poland once he saw that not only were the Germans sure to win Poland but the UK and France had joined the war, guaranteeing that Germany would be too busy to attack Stalin. Even better, perhaps the UK and France would fucking crush Hitler and install a new weak state like Weinmar once again, giving Stalin free reign over eastern Europe.
However, that was obviously not to be. France fell, and the UK circled the wagons in the British Isles, wheathering the German onslaught. Stalin at this point was furious, as from his perspective (and perhaps the view of the entire world as well) the impossible happened: Germany successfully did what they could not do in the first war: knock out France early, giving Germany leeway in future operations.
From here it's less clear what Stalin's mindset was. Logically he should view Hitler as a greater threat and should build up his defenses. However Stalin was now engaged in a war with Finland and had also purged his officer corps, leaving him woefully prepared. While defenses along the new German-Soviet border progressing, it wasn't nearly enough. Some accounts say that Stalin, faced with a bleak scenario, had now deluded himself into believing that Hitler was a man of his word, and that to some degree the two dictators were friends. Once Barbarossa occurred Stalin was completely unstable and had ot retreat to his country home to recuperate.

Churchill-Hitler is another fascinating study, because if there's one thing Churchill hated more than Germans it was communists (there's a reason he's the once making the Iron Curtains speech postwar), and to some degree was willing to let Hitler exist as a threat to the Soviets. However, at some point Hitler started to grow too powerful, and the idea of a German attack dog became far less appetizing, lest the dog bite the Commonwealth as well. Plus he had to balance out the needs of the French, who very much despised a resurgent Germany far more than they could ever dislike the Soviets, who were very distant in their minds.
I think the declaration against only one of the invading parties was more of an attempt to avoid biting off more than they could chew, and especially since they had no way of fighting the Soviets in any capacity it would have been an even bigger phony war than the one against Germany in 1939-early '40.
