Yes, unbreakable morale would be fine for Necrons and Nids. Orks can break (they do in Battlefleet Gothic at the very least). Space Marines can die, but the enemy is also stupidly OP. Maybe make a single Imperium faction where Space Marines are the elite unites available in very few numbers? So that the bulk of your forces are guardsmen and you can drop some muhreens before a battle to basically drastically increase your chances of winning, just like in the real setting.

In the tabletop game, despite having a 'morale test' (dunno if you're familiar with it), it's to represent something else, not about them being scared to fight.
Orks retreat because it's better to run away and come back later to fight again, than to die in a one-sided battle.
Necrons 'break' because their programming tells them it's tactically unsound to remain in the situation they are in.
They don't break due to low morale, they break due to another irrelevant reason unrelated to morale. It's a balance reason, nothing else.

Basic stuff:
Hammer and anvil:
>use infantry to pin enemy in place
>attack flank with cavalry/other infantry
>when outnumbered use choke points such as between cliffs or the corner of the map
>but leave some space for your cavalry to storm out for hammer and anvil
>or hide them in the woods if playing a TW post-Shogun 2
>with numerical superiority try to avoid choke points and try to envelope the sides of the enemy with your wider battle line
Samurai>peasants in battle, but ashigaru swarms are better in auto-resolve as they're cheap and easy to replace
Remember counters
spears>horses>swords>spears
archers (at range) > infantry > light cavalry > archers
Artillery in Fall of the Samurai is godlike,
don't bother with it the base game unless laying siege
In siege try to soften them with arrows before climbing the walls

>fire arrows from a pack of archers can burn down a tower before it does much damage
>remember to use loose formation when fighting defending archers
>guns on defense are fucking insane, remember to fall back a bit once they start climbing so you can shoot them some more when they get to the top of the wall

Cavalry archers are useful for dragging away enemy units. The AI will often send a single unit (sometimes more if you're lucky) to chase down your cavalry, just set it to skirmish and check up on it occasionally and you can dray away some serious fighting power that would otherwise be fucking you up.
make sure you avoid using archers against units engaged in melee, as you cause friendly fire (as well as special arrows negatively affecting your own troops), try to shoot other targets or flank
Use rally before your men break (flashing white), not after (solid white)

Morale is a big decider in TW games, if entire armies fought to the death there would be serious attrition.
To counter how broken nids and crons would be you could:
>give the nids a morale equivalent as 'control'
>the more synapse creatures you kill (general equiv) the less organized and easier to kill they are
>the same effect is caused by not having a synapse creature nearby so you can't just huddle them all together and have to keep them near the front in a potentially vulnerable spot
>crons could always get the old phase out rule
>kill enough necrons in a squad and the rest phase out instead of just shatter
>you have to juggle units on the front line so not too many die that they disappear but enough that resurrecting them (on a massive cooldown) is more effective
