Have not heard if the Definitive Edition brings anything new to the PC table, but I played the original in Co-Op and liked it a fair bit. It's fetch quest city and the game peters out after the opening section at the resort, but for cheap it can be fun. I'd recommend using 360/XB1 controllers as the analog swing controls for melee weapons are not present for KB&M users.

I'm not a huge open world survival game fan but was talked into Rust by my online friends. It didn't click with me and I refunded it. After calling all my friends FAGS first, naturally.
If you like Minecraft or any of the other three dozen crafting-based survival games, you might dig it. I'm not well versed enough in the genre to delineate it from its brethren.

Even if I wanted to gift you skyrim, I wouldn't do it now, it's way overpriced. For less than the steam price you can get the anthology at a gamestop. It has ever elder scrolls game with full DLCs, as well as physical maps. It has CDs, but steam keys as well.

They're all different. If you can tolerate slow battles for the best in every other area (the battles are still great, just very slow animations) then play 9. If you care more about the battle system then go for X/X-2. X is perfect if you like building up your party and working for the high-level gear while having a lot of endgame bosses to work through, and X-2 is the best combat in the whole series with monster collecting/controlling and a ton of extra stuff to do. The story in the 10 duo sucks though.
If you purely want story then go 9, 6 or 4 (GBA versions of 6 and 4 are best). If you want the best fleshed-out experience with everything delivering well then go 9. If you just want fun RPG combat with a long tail for the endgame content then X.
