First and foremost, stick to what final fantasy is known for, and what players expect in a final fantasy game.
Turn based combat, dungeon crawling, story & beautiful scenery. Atleast that is what FF is to me.
They could even step it up, make parties truly customisable. Dozens of possibly party makeups.
Basic equipment has always been - Main weapon, Main "armor" (1 piece) and, sometimes one piece of jewelry.
Expand on this, make parties fully customisable with typical RPG equipment slots.
Allow for new abilities/skills to be learned the more a specific character is used.
TLDR - Fuck what FF is becoming, it needs to go back to its roots and be expanded upon

It is still the same combat for Noctis as in the 2011 footage with them only adding more to Noctis's playstyle and increasing what he can do, only the other characters were changed so you can give them command inputs from a menu.
